Fay Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – Milan Fashion Week

The first day of Milan Fashion Week is coming to a close and the next brand we want to present to your attention is the Italian label Fay, which made our day brighter today presenting the cheerful Fay spring/summer 2015 collection! The label, in fact, constitutes a part of an even larger fashion group known as Tod’s, which has been founded and is owned by Diego Della Valle. The label mainly specializes in outerwear for men, women and children, but in recent years they have started to expand their range of clothing. Fay collections have always carried the influence of the ‘60s and the ‘70s, but thanks to modern fabrics, bright colors and unique patterns, their collections have never looked outdated or unfashionable.

For the Fay spring/summer 2015 collection, stripes turned out to be the most common pattern. The color palette mainly revolved around black, white, blue and red. The pieces on the collection were rather sporty with a touch of tomboyishness, although feminine pieces were not absent either. For sporty looks we had wide, loose shorts paired with matching zip-up sports jackets and short tops, sporty vests and long sleeve sweaters with shorts, zip-up dresses topped with long jackets and so on. For girlier pieces, we saw spaghetti strap white dresses with black stripes around the hem, short white mini skirts with a matching jacket adorned with layers around the waist (this was probably the most form fitting of all the pieces presented), blue and white rather simple mini dresses, shimmery knee length shorts with a blouse that said “Fay Time” and so on. By the way, the name of the Italian label appeared on almost all of the pieces, so if you somehow have a hard time identifying the items (which we doubt you will), there are those all sorts of prints saying “Fay” that will come to your aid.
Strolling down the catwalk with hands in pockets, the models added more boyishness to the looks. The designer had also used black leather to create a matching pair of skirt and a sleeveless top, which, probably, was the most elegant of all the dresses.

We have already mentioned in our previous posts that the American media and most often film and cartoon characters very often appeared on the most famous fashion runways in forms of prints in tees, blouses, sweaters and even skirts and dresses. This time the American comic strip Peanuts was featured in the Fay spring/summer 2015 collection. The characters from the strip were seen on sleeveless tops, sweaters, long jackets, knee length skirts and backpacks.
As for the shoes, we had sporty high heels with straps and high necks (yes, these do exist!). For bags, we had backpacks that perfectly matched the outfits.
We think the Fay spring/summer 2015 collection was all that the fans of boyishness in women’s clothes wanted and even more. We mean, high-heeled sporty shoes? We were utterly amazed!
