The Italian capital’s perfect style was presented on Milan Fashion Week catwalk on the second day of show by luxury fashion house Fendi. Fendi has always been about being concise in its designs, be they form-fitting dresses, tight pants or skirts. Karl Lagerfeld’s collections have often been labeled as “futuristic” and “progressive” but the Fendi spring/summer 2015 collection just unveiled proved to be more modern and twenty-first-century worthy.
With Cara Delevingne being the first model to walk down the catwalk, the Fendi spring/summer 2015 collection presentation kicked off, which was imbued with lots and lots of womanly easy-to-wear pieces. The very first dresses had dark blue and black as undertones and were adorned with carefully arranged floral prints in white, red and blue. We saw both figure hugging dresses with narrow waistlines and dresses that were somewhat loosely tailored. The flowers in white, red and blue were also seen on all black collared tube-like dresses, on black suede jackets and so on. Lagerfeld had also designed dresses with very interesting cap-like shoulders, which we are sure will be one of the things vividly remembered about the collection.
Looks became more summery in the middle of the show, where the designer’s careful layering and combining of colors left everyone present speechless. All white short carrot pants were paired with light brown blouses topped with denim-color jacket with patches of black leather that appeared to be the continuation of collars (the design was also seen on several jackets that followed), short denim pants were worn with a basic sleeveless printed tee and so on.
Lagerfeld had also used a very unique fading/bleaching technique on coats, short sleeve jackets and pants, which gave them worn-out but quite a stylish look. He also had some blouses and long sleeve sweaters cut in thin vertical lines up front creating a unique type of fringes.
The summery mood was continued by the range of the mini dresses patterned with white, blue, black and shades of gray and adorned with fringes on one side of the hem. The same pattern and color combination was also used to design jackets that were paired with leather pants, tapered trousers, short sleeve dresses with cutouts around the waist and chest areas and as a unique print on a see-through material worn over denim shorts. Chocolate brown was used to design leather dresses with wide orange straps and pants that were loose around the hips. The combination of light blue and brown turned out to be rather interesting as well: light blue cropped blouses with collars paired with brown loose pants looked very artistic and fresh.
Still the most artistic and inventive pieces Karl Lagerfeld had preserved for the end of the show, where an array of mind-blowing dresses was presented to our attention. First we had an off-shoulder light blue mini dress and after that things just went crazy! Mini dresses adorned with feathers in light pink, blue and black looked lush, chic and simply fantastic.
The Fendi spring/summer 2015 collection did not lack accessories either. Creative hair ties and stylish eyewear gave a unique charm and appeal to the looks. Overall, it was a perfect summery collection, filled with charming and wearable pieces that can liven up any simple wardrobe!
