Get Ready for Summer 2016 Fashion Wise with Forever 21

Focusing on pastel colors (on both the clothes and hair), Nineties-inspired staples and a few Seventies prints, the newest Forever 21 summer 2016 collection’s campaign wants us to get 100% ready for summer, fashion wise. To better transmit the collection’s carefree spirit, Forever 21 scouted for supermodel Lucky Blue Smith’s sisters Pyper America and Daisy Clementine Smith to sport the latest proposals, which are available for purchase at Forever21.com, and we could fairly state they perfectly embodied the 90s-inspired mood of the collection. The siblings, who have an incredible fan base on all the main social media accounts, also play together in a band called ‘The Atomics’, and are destined to hit it big indeed both in the music and fashion industries. Choosing the Smith sisters for its SS 2016 campaign will surely help Forever 21 reach an even wider audience.

Forever 21 Summer 2016 Fashion Campaign

The new Forever 21 summer 2016 collection, which launched a few days ago online and in stores, is quite different from the label’s festival 2016 line-up, which almost solely focused on more Seventies-inspired staples. It did however take some of those festival-approved prints to adorn these Nineties-inspired rompers and jumpsuits, put together by Pyper America with a faux fur vest that makes everything look less hippy and more heroin-chic. With her straight messy pink hair and natural makeup, Pyper is probably one of the most loved millennial models and mostly exudes the grunge decade in her personal style, proving at the same time that a mannish striped shirt can (if not should) be fiercely combined with a girly pastel-colored top.

Daisy Clementine, on the other hand, is no less interesting, and in the campaign she perfectly recalls the Nineties girl power that those who were a teenager during the Nineties surely remember vividly. That’s the reason why for its summer 2016 collection Forever 21 mainly focused on tie-dye prints, ombre color touches, bold hues in neoprene fabrics and, of course, animal patterns, the latter of which got combined with some airy, sporty Spice-Girls-approved oversized crop tops that are one of the collection’s key-pieces.

Denim jackets, along with faux shearling coats, got matched with uber-feminine dresses, tops and short shorts, proving once again that playing with contrasting motifs is one of this summer’s fashion mantras, indeed. Fishnet, crochet and varsity tees alternate the collection’s colorful bodices, while floor-length frocks with belts cinched at the waists remind us of the late Nineties/early ‘00s trends. Other hot trends one will quickly find at any Forever 21 bricks-and-mortar store an online include chokers, big, rounded sunglasses, knee-high boots and, of course, acid wash denim staples.

Glittery makeup accents on the sisters’ bodies are then just the icing on a cake, and will surely help make this shoot one of summer’s most inspirational campaigns.
