It is finally time for another inspirational Free People lookbook, and this time around the American boho-chic label takes us out to dinner and then a party with friends full of dances and rhythmic moves. Titled ‘Night Moves’, the newest Free People 2016 lookbook, which is already available for purchase on the brand’s website, could be overall regarded as the natural nighttime evolution of the Kaleidoscopic Skies catalog, where the festival daytime look was the main protagonist. Night Moves features a similar Seventies-inspired attitude with the only exception that this time Free People treats us to something daring and cool to flaunt during the warmest and most romantic summer evenings, making sure there’s everything included in the package, from party-ready ensembles to more country-chic proposals.
Although many of the outfits feature denim and suede materials, which inevitably contribute to overwhelming the collection with country-chic vibes, the Night Moves lookbook is almost solely made of lightweight fabrics that are just perfect for the warm summer nights. To lavishly decorate the proposals, Free People not only concentrated on earthy hues and nude patterns, which are regarded as the chicest and most versatile ones in the entire collection, but also on an exquisite beading in golden and silvery colors, giving us a glimpse of what the super-exclusive after-parties in the Seventies looked like. Such shimmery highlights adorn even the collection’s ponchos and sheer tank tops, which are usually the most casual and informal staples in any kind of line-up.
Although dramatic floor-length maxi dresses and draped midi frocks are the ultimate protagonists in the collection, the brand also gives ample space to high-waisted short shorts, billowy jumpsuits that feature delicate ruched detailing on the busts and adjustable halter necks, a crochet fringed midi dress with a fancy uneven hem dubbed ‘Abba’, and a few leather jackets. These are just the best options if you are looking for something to match with the line-up’s numerous Capri pants.
Other interesting proposals that perfectly get along with one another include the curve-hugging lace bodysuits (meant to be combined with anything from denim skirts to the nude-colored jackets available in the line-up), roomy cargo pants that will create a delicate contrast with the solid-colored black bodysuits and, of course, the sultry and sophisticated shimmery slip dresses.
To top it all off, Free People put great emphasis on the accessory line as usual, adding must-have staples that will fly off the online shelves in the blink of an eye. Printed turbans, wrap clogs, chunky-heeled sandals and cross-body bags are few of the many accessorizing options that will complete most of our Free People-approved summer nights this year!
