She’s been all over the place of late. The English fashion model Georgia May Jagger, coveted 23-year-old daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall and sister to Elizabeth, Jade, James, Karis, Gabriel, and Lucas Maurice Morad Jagger, is literally all over the fashion world of late. Mulberry has just announced her to be the face of its fall/winter 2015-2016 campaign, going all 1970s on us all and ready to rock it like the best of them. Our pretty lady’s got her swagger from her father and is channelling London with her traditional Jagger pout and signature gap between the front teeth.
With the current muse of the Mulbery brand being Georgia, the future is beginning to look brighter, despite the fact that it is not done with playing up its heritage past. The “It” girl is on the scene now, looking drop dead gorgeous as always against a backdrop of cast iron and weathered brick, the weather not without its cloudy overcast. Jagger’s showing off with a walk around Chelsea and a drive down the lane in a turquoise car, hair wind-mussed and her style impeccably Mulberry. She’s got the brimmed hat and the coat over her shoulders, her tan handbag thrown onto the seat, her thick-heeled oxfords looking awesome under her midi skirts. There are both older and newer accessories that are presented throughout the campaign video as well, though the company is focusing on the smaller leather goods and substantially increasing what it offers in the 500-1000 Sterling Pounds category. During 2015, we noticed that 66 percent of Mulberry bags are in that particular price range, making them so much more accessible to the regular shopper.
The current Mulberry fall 2015 collection features the Bayswater bag that has been classics for a while now, as well as the newer Roxette and Mini Jamie pieces that are bound to end up in tour purse drawer. In Georgia May Jagger’s own words, “Shooting the Mulberry campaign was great – it was so nice to be out on the streets of London! Chelsea is such an iconic place, I love the architecture. And of course, Mulberry is such a quintessentially British brand, so it was the perfect setting.” Since she had replaced Cara Delevingne as the Mulberry face for the brand’s spring/summer 2015 advertisements, it rather made sense to keep Jagger on for the fall and winter seasons as well, particularly since she looked so very good in those leather pants and pretty black pumps with the extra shine. This time around, we loved seeing the focus on the handbags more than the clothing, but the focus on Georgia herself in the ad video might have been a tad too much. After all, Mulberry is still selling fashion and not the girls, right?
