It is still summer, but what we do now is getting our wardrobes wholly ready for the upcoming season. For that purpose, there are certain cool brands, fashion houses and high-street retailers that we go through and get our most beloved pieces. The high-street giant Topshop is the next on the list to make a boom blast campaign for their fall 2015 collection, which will reach stores in a couple of weeks. Lensed by the outstanding photographer Tyron Lebon, the Topshop fall 2015 ads feature 20-year-old rising star Gigi Hadid aiming at expanding their influential sphere with no racial discrimination.
The best friend of Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift and Cara Delevingne, this American mixed-race beauty appears in shots with all her charm and loveliness. The amazing pieces like the cool checked hooded jacket worn with a sports bra and panties, classic black suit with straight black pants, red knitted sweater teamed with a bold short black leather skirt and webbed tights look even more desirable on her undeniably gorgeous figure. There are pieces for several style divisions from sporty casual wear to elegant chic clothing, which add a good deal of choosing palette for consumers. The figure-enhancing knee-length black dress matched with high-heel strappy sandals is an incomparable variant for a dinner date or a special work meeting where you might want to look fabulous without the obvious hint of having tried too hard. Also, we see the popular ‘70s touch present in the campaign brought to life through the lovely black apron-dress with tuxedo motifs teamed with a classic white chiffon shirt. In one of the pictures, it is topped with a leopard printed coat that is every dandy’s dream.
For the everyday chic effortless look there are high-waist denim pants, crop tops and leather jackets that we have been craving since last season. To keep it simple, the creative director of Topshop Kate Phelan, who styled the photoshoot, did not go for sophisticated details and a rich background, which is absolutely a good thing from the point of view of marketing, as the attention is drawn only on the pieces. As for the makeup, it is not as minimalist as in other campaigns we have seen lately: Gigi radiates a certain touch of warmth wearing brown-gold eyeshadows, full lashes and nude lips.
Gigi is an aspiring supermodel and choosing her for the Topshop fall 2015 campaign will be beneficial for the brand firstly because she has over 4.8 million followers on Instagram (social media is a great power for spreading information), and in addition being a non-British model-representative she could promote the brand in many other non-British countries as well. That is an indication of the retailer’s aim to create clothing for cool women everywhere. As Sir Phillip Green says, working with Gigi on this campaign continues to strengthen their international vision for the Topshop brand. As long as they are continually developing their footprint across all markets with ambitious plans both in the U.K. and internationally, the retail giant businessman feels that Hadid is an ideal ambassador to underpin those efforts. As for Gigi, this is just another winning step to conquering world fashion industry adding up the campaigns that she features in.
