Among the numerous fashion campaigns that give us the looks we need in our wardrobe, there are ones that plunge into our dreams and fantasies. They give us the looks we want and the characters we always craved to be. These fashion campaigns always border close to art, and Giorgio Armani’s fall 2015 campaign is another artistic approach to what a woman should wear these days.
This time the prestigious Italian house, which continues to spark the minds and hearts of many women all over the world, has brought the mysterious in us. The campaign is the continuation of the fall fashion week in Milan, which included the entire collection, while this campaign seems to be limited only to a few looks. The man behind the magnificent shots is the famous Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø, mostly known for his powerful and sharp fashion photography in ads and magazines. His style is very vivid in the choice of lighting and light/shadow balance. As a result, the fog, the shadowy backdrop and the see-through elegance have created a scene we all want to be playing.
The brand has mainly kept the overall style and feel of the runway show, but has also made a few modifications to the hair styling and makeup. The ever-piercing Vittoria Ceretti shines in the shots with a slick back hairdo, smoky eyes and natural lips. Her soft features are perfectly in contrast with the classic tailoring of the garments. Moreover, the contrast is everywhere in the Giorgio Armani fall 2015 campaign; the soft is juxtaposed with hard, the light with dark, etc. It can even be seen in the garments; the delicate asymmetric Peter Pan collar adds a feminine touch to the tailored blazers.
While there is not much to say about the tailoring (it’s top-notch, as always!), these looks are not meant to fit your shoulders and waist, but they’re designed to create that baggy yet sophisticated character. Picturing how comfortable and practical these pieces can be (yes, fashion can be comfy even in superb designs), it will be perfect for women whose lunch is hardly ever without the “business” in front, and who prefer the concealed beauty.
Interestingly, Armani has kept the fringe and the flowy above-the-ankle dresses out of the shoot, with the exception of a timeless piece of a low-cut see-through wrap dress, which, to be honest, looks far more fascinating on the photo than it did on the runway early this spring. So if you’re into these pieces, make sure to have a quick look at the entire collection. There is another side of this coin, and you’ll want to see it.
The Giorgio Armani fall 2015 collection doesn’t seem to be inspired by the youthful spirit, but rather the intriguing femininity of a woman who can conquer with a glance. The elegance is dripping down these looks, but then, who would have doubted the style? The name of the brand speaks about the collection well enough. Overall, Armani has made a wise choice by releasing these photos, as no matter how great, colorful, and diverse the collection was on the catwalk, the photos do create a visually enchanting story and atmosphere.
