Giorgio Armani Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

Entitled “Bohemian Rhapsody” to celebrate the designer’s positive attitude towards urban fashion, the Giorgio Armani pre-fall 2016 collection showcases many wearable pieces that may not be about anything in particular, but will make you fall in love with them instantly. Don’t let those seemingly basic designs fool you! The collection is actually anything but basic.

Giorgio Armani Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

The collection literally features a rhapsody of different styles that may however all be classified under the urban-chic umbrella, looks that are completed with edgy flat and high-heeled leather boots. Combining such a great variety of styles, the Italian fashion designer reaffirms his specializations, which include terrific tailoring skills, a never-ending passion for flower motifs and a keen eye for fancy casual clothing. Get ready for a whole range of pleated dresses, colored coats, silky shirts and blouses, as well as cropped pants and jackets, which will make you already impatient about the next transitional season.

Aside from drop-waist party dresses that may slightly remind of the Eighties, as well as mannish lines that could be linked to the Twenties, the Giorgio Armani pre-fall 2016 collection solely focuses on contemporary trends, celebrating all the cosmopolitan and independent women out there. The 36-piece collection mainly features dark hues, with the only interruption of a few sleek fabrics. Floral prints and the aforementioned colored coats liven up the lineup, creating an intriguing contrast with the many sensual and glam rock sheer attachments. Such glam rock-inspired fabrics are especially to be found within the last part of the collection, wherein Armani gave his best at designing freewheeling outfits full of a strong attitude. A similar carefree attitude is particular peculiar to the collection, as it may be regarded as the fil rouge that keeps running through the story, interconnecting the main items together.

For a more youthful part one may look up to the eveningwear pieces, which are definitely not a predominant part of the collection, but definitely show Armani’s more playful side. To keep things interesting the designer even added faux-fur linings and fringed appliqués to many of these pieces, accentuating once again the concept of the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ he so wants to celebrate.

Above all, the pants were given the major revamp here, as their (often) roomy hems got cropped just above the ankles, getting then paired with flared cropped mini coats, mini blouses and oversized sweatshirts. Their quirky lines are as much romantic as those of the many maxi dresses and velvet trousers, the latter of which really are one of this year’s main trends.

The collection features also many must-have pieces for the season to come, which not only include the omnipresent chunky sandals, but also various blazers, jackets in patchwork motifs and spacious kimono jackets with botanical prints that are just so adorable.
