Givenchy Couture Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Collection

While we have been focusing on resort collections for a while now, it is only right to make mention of the latest in Givenchy line-ups, the Givenchy Couture fall/winter 2015-2016 collection that was all about the drama, as per usual. Can you think of a collection lately that Givenchy has introduced that was anything close to dull? We most certainly cannot! That is why seeing the steel risers on the runway just made sense and the pink lace slip of a gown that Kendall Jenner wore appealed to us great. After all, the right bodice with the sparkly strapped suspenders that fell into an explosion of long silk tassel fringes is nothing out of the ordinary, right? If any other designer took this route, we might be scratching our heads in amazement, but this line-up is so very Givenchy, we cannot get enough of it.

Givenchy Couture Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Collection

There are 11 couture looks in this fall 2015 symphony of fashion created by Riccardo Risci. There are 11 outfits that have us preening, begging for more of the bad girl makes good girlfriend look. We even see rugged style denim appear among the mix of the prettier or more sensualized dresses, while one set of penitentiary overalls certainly does us in. Who is the lady Givenchy makes its muse for this collection and what secrets does her black heart hide? We can only imagine who inspired Tisci’s designs, but we silently thank her for the great favour she has done the fashion world. For, truly, this is a line-up of outfits to be reckoned with. We are having to hard a time figuring out which pieces would work with our own personalities best. Then again, we all have a dash of bad girl in all of us, so more so than others.

The couture pieces have a certain romantic side to them, with the frothy bits especially, while they are most certainly part showgirl. Who wouldn’t want to be dancing in these while singing “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” anyhow? The dresses are made of lace and come in rather lovely colors of yellow and sky blue, sheer enough to show off the naked limbs underneath. There is the occasional sparkle from embedded crystals or the big star shaped sequins of course, which makes the pieces all the more amusing to own. Everything about the Givenchy Couture fall 2015 collection screams drama, drama and more drama, including the long cardigan over the black gown with the heavy chain and off the shoulder slash. The accessories only add to the drama with the beaded armbands and the large hoops on the ears, along with the multi-chain necklaces thrown on.

Since Tisci also has a men’s spring 2016 collection out, it rather makes sense to also have the more masculine looks, such as in the mannish pantsuit but with pinstripes and a whole lot of dramatic glamour. At the end of the day, however, the biggest trend seen here is the peekaboo lace, which ensures one sees the panties worn underneath, along with the thigh high stockings that show off great expanses of leg.
