No one does bodycon dresses as perfectly as Max and Lubov Azria do. Their Herve Leger By Max Azria fall/winter 2015-2016 collection unveiled on the third day of New York Fashion Week seemed to be a tribute to their iconic piece – the bandage dress, which came in various colors and forms and looked so futuristic and cool! Wear it to parties, to dates or to formal events and you’re going to look bedazzling and chic, since the collection offers the ideal style and color for different occasions and for every personal preference. Capable to emphasize the woman’s beautiful curves and femininity, it’s the ultimate dress one needs to slip into to channel a big dose of self-confidence and glamour.
Recalling her latest visit to Gaudí’s La Sagrada Família cathedral in Barcelona, Lubov Azria injected an Art Nouveau attitude to her new collection, wherein quite many elements, forms and colors instantly reminded of the European architectural masterpiece. She played with intricate patterns, sequins, detailed embroidery with a 3D effect and other decorative elements to transfer her thoughts of the cathedral to her designs, while the photos she took were digitalized and imprinted on her knit jacquard dresses. The nude sand colored dresses brought Gaudí’s miniature wood cathedral models to mind.
The colors and prints of the entire Herve Leger By Max Azria fall/winter 2015-2016 collection are as diverse and rich as the shades of Barcelona, as we discover both neutral colors, including white, black, cream, gray and sand, and eye-feasting prints that one needs to gaze at for hours to see so many amazing pictures and patterns you might have already seen in the sunny city. There are also richer shades of teal and blue available, as well as lilacs, which breathe some spring air to the collection.
In addition to their iconic dress style, the designer duo also unveiled some fresh designs, such as shearling jackets and oversized bombers with creative prints that gave a mature vibe to the jacquard dresses they were topping. We also witnessed a pair of skinny pants and long-sleeved skin-tight shirts worn under the dresses. It was for providing warmth and comfort to the wearer, as it’s a winter line after all.
The looks were bold enough to go without accessories and they used just heeled ankle booties and some clutches to complete the outfits. Equally classy and minimalist was the beauty look featuring elegant updos and minimal makeup with a tan shade added to the peepers and the cheeks.
As long as the Herve Leger By Max Azria brand exists, you’re going to enjoy the trend of the bandage dress, yet every year you’ll be doing that in a new way thanks to the innovative designs the designer duo comes up with every time.
