“The New Essentials” Guide Found at H&M

There are many reasons we are absolutely in love with the H&M women’s fashion clothing and accessories retailer. It has been a favorite for years now, as one of the larger stores to shop from for more affordable products overall. It won our hearts with its collaboration with Coachella and of late seems to be appearing on Fashion Week runways, having partnered up with Balmain in the last few months. The brand is a hit and it certainly appeals to the masses with its lovely designs and upbeat personality, the ease of shopping through its departments and the beauty of finding something totally new through the retailer.

“The New Essentials” Guide at H&M for Spring 2016

H&M has only gained in prestige over the years, moving on from being a tween favorite to being a celebrity happiness jaunt. Now, we are perfectly happy to also find its trend guide for the latest in new essentials, focusing more so on the casual separates meant for a warmer day. Model Hana Jirickova comes out to play with the essential pieces themselves, showing them off as everything from off-the-shoulder tops to lace dresses and even denim pieces are put in the spotlight. The H&M spring 2016 essentials lookbook (you can shop it on HM.com now) is undoubtedly a must-have for it features incredibly comfortable pieces, which we should not be going through the spring and summer without.

So which are our very favorites? Since the spring/ summer 2016 color trends tend to circle around neutral earth tones and shades of aqua and green, that gorgeous sea colored lace dress with the long sleeves, high neck and just above the knee hem certainly tops it off. We rather like the sea green and beige floral print round neck and long sleeve patterned dress as well, while a green lace blouse coupled with slim fit pants with a high waist and suede ankle boots certainly appeals to our casual loving senses.

We are seeing a lot of slim fits again actually, with the advent of treggings, the inclusion of boot cuts that fit to the body, and general high waists on everything giving a longer, leaner silhouette overall. There are quite a few ribbed knit pieces among the line-up as well, with bodysuits and loose-fitting sweaters coming in with flattering cuts.

We are positively in love with the rib knit off shoulder top, baring the décolletage and looking pretty cool with feet clad in a pair of loafers. Then again, those twill pants with the skinny fit just complete the look. Of course, if you want to go for the chic, sophisticated CEO look, you might want to pick up an imitation suede coat in black with a sleeveless white blouse, slim fit pants and shiny black shoe worn without socks, to complete the look.

As for the date-perfect look though, give button down high waist miniskirts a try in imitation suede, paired with a white off shoulder rib knit top and leather ankle boots that allow the legs to be the focus of attention. It is a sexy come-hither look without going all out on the sensuality.
