H&M Goes Loose and Breezy for Summer 2016

Let’s be honest: H&M is doing an incredible job following all the seasonal trends, becoming a trendsetter and, above all, focusing on all those appealing summer ensembles that instantly make anyone go shopping. For the H&M summer 2016 collection, the Swedish brand follows its notorious Scandinavian appeal while embracing loose and breezy silhouettes, opting for the perfect balance between functionality and style.

H&M Summer 2016 Lookbook

Thanks to Swedish model Julia Hafstrom, who made a name for herself at the past fashion weeks and is destined to hit it big in the next few years, the H&M summer 2016 collection lets us discover six outfits that are perfect to mix and match with equally loose proposals (just to keep in tune with the overall Seventies vibes) or with contrasting biker jackets and Nineties-inspired pieces (just to name a few: any denim jacket or oversized crop-top will look just perfect with any of these pleated skirts). This new collection is loaded with maxi skirts and oversized pieces, which will literally arm you with all the things you will need to both face the summer heat and a long day at the office/university (choosing what to wear on a super hot Monday morning is probably one of the hardest things ever).

Ethereally white and sinuously wide, the proposals seem all to come from a Seventies-inspired fairytale, enhanced with coordinating robe coats with retro prints and billowy kimono sleeves. A soft blue combined with a delicate orange interrupts what seems to be the collection’s natural inclination for the white fabrics, while a pastel lilac subtly gets out of the way with its structured pleats and pinkish patterns.

Wide-leg palazzo pants and an oversized t-shirt dress prove one can definitely feel at ease while looking sophisticated, while an embroidered white bomber jacket is just the right option if you are not into contrasting patterns and will like to try out the whole total-white look. Those who enjoyed H&M’s latest Conscious Exclusive collection will also notice how much these two line-ups have in common (and will probably feel curious about the possibility of combining them together) both in terms of colors and lines.

On the other hand, those who can’t get enough of contrasting motifs and are not that into total-white looks, will find the white jacket, not to mention the plain white t-shirt with exquisitely cute clean cuts, the perfect pieces capable of adding the right amount of romantic allure to any glam-rock look. Finally yet importantly, we recommend keeping an eye on the brand’s summer accessory line, as it is rife with statement-making pieces to spice up any outfit.
