Gone are the days when winter styling was considered to be boring! There are so many amazing, colorful and printful offerings from various retailers that in some cases cold season fashion becomes even more alluring than the summer one. J.Crew is definitely one of those retailers, as it manages to always stand out with the cheerful spirit that its collections exude. The newest J.Crew fall 2012 lookbook is full packed with bold, statement-making, totally adorable ensembles, which mix masculine and feminine touches, attention-grabbing colors and prints. No wonder, Jenna Lyons’ designs are for daring fashionisers striving to stand out in the crowd.
“You have to make quick decisions,” Jenna Lyons, the president and creative director of J.Crew, told BoF. “Ultimately, fashion is all about gut anyway — there’s no science to what this should look like or that should look like or how many times you can redraw that or resketch that or redo that catalogue cover. The fact of the matter is, either it grabs you or it doesn’t.”
The J.Crew fall 2012 collection is rife with on-trend and unique sweaters, skirts, dresses, shorts, tops, coats, blazers, tees, hoodies, jackets and matching accessories, such as bags, shoes, gloves and hats. Just switch on your creativeness and mix and match boldly in order to create memorable looks. Play with textures, prints, colors and sequins. There are stunning paisley prints and Breton stripes, leopard and nautical patterns, lots of sequins and cashmere, bold eclectic blue tones, greens, reds, pinks, mustards and much more. Boredom is totally excluded for the J.Crew fall 2012 collection!
Lyons, who has been working for the brand for over 20 years, told The Guardian that, “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity that I’ve been given. This company has changed my life in so many ways, and as long as Mickey wants me here, I will be. My God, he’s seriously going to have to give me a cow bell and a green pasture one day, and yell: ‘Go! Go girl! Go!'”
