Sophistication, elegance and sexiness have no limits for Jason Wu, and the designer proves this well through the magnificent Jason Wu fall/winter 2013-2014 collection unveiled during New York Fashion Week. “Extreme Femininity” was the name of the collection and it already spoke for itself. The designer wanted to bring more mature looks and he did this by opting for edginess and sexiness, which were translated into refined fur jackets, white collared shirts and belted trench coats.
Delicate pleats were the focus of the Jason Wu fall/winter 2013-2014 collection, which appeared on the white, eclectic blue and deep red skirts and dresses showcased. Overall, the color palette of the collection included pure whites and versatile blacks, deep reds, caramel tones and an eclectic blue appearing on a refined evening gown. Snakeskin prints and subtle motifs of polka dots were the only choices for those, who prefer to stay away from monochrome pieces.
Despite the etherealness and lightness of the daywear looks presented, all the ensembles were bearing kind of hardness in them. This was due to the color choices, as well as such attributes as leather, fur details and sharp shoulders. The transparency inserts boosted the seductiveness and elegance of the clothes. Especially breathtaking were the elegant pleated evening gowns demonstrated at the end of the show.
With femininity being the buzzword for the Jason Wu fall/winter 2013-2014 collection, the line showed an array of dresses and skirts, mini and ground-skimming, silhouette-embracing and flowing, with peplum details and asymmetrical hemlines, pleated and semi-transparent, snakeskin printed and polka dotted. There were also elegant trousers with peplum details, bustier tops, transparent trenches, crisp white shirts, military coats and knitted sweaters. All the pieces featured waist-accentuating leather belts, no matter it was a blouse of a dress.
With its delicacy, fabulousness and sexiness, the Jason Wu fall/winter 2013-2014 collection is sure to capture the hearts of millions of fashionisers and flood the red carpet events soon.
