Jennifer Lawrence is back with a new Dior campaign, and its dreamlike results are elegance at its finest! Lawrence, who has been posing for the Maison’s ad campaigns since 2013, stars in this Dior fall/winter 2016-17 campaign showing off Dior’s coziest and most urban-chic proposals, in an intimate atmosphere made of soft lights and unadorned backgrounds.
Captured by iconic photographer Patrick Demarchelier, Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior fall/winter 2016-17 campaign truly embodies the collection’s spirit, which earlier this year charmed us with its contrasting sharp cuts and relaxed lines, as well as with its renovated Dior classics.
Demarchelier, whose photographic style consists in seeking perfect beauty and balancing each one of his compositions, effortlessly managed to enhance the 26-year-old actress’s charm and personality, as well as the Maison’s must-have staples for the next wintery season, focusing on Lawrence’s profound eyes and Dior’s newest It-bags accordingly.
Besides Jennifer Lawrence, who we think should be already appointed as one of Dior’s most iconic brand ambassadors, this Dior FW 2016-17 ad campaign deeply focuses on two of the label’s most acclaimed must-haves, namely the Diorever and Diorama bags.
Here seen in their most eclectic colors and patterns, both the newest Diorever and Diorama bags are relatively young, with their contemporary lines unveiled to the public less than a few years ago. Their cutting-edge glam and urban-chic attitude instantly conquered the hearts of many, with especially the Diorever bag becoming an instant fashion success.
We are thus not that surprised to see how the campaign harmoniously manages to highlight both Lawrence’s beauty and the garments she is wearing, while at the same time solely concentrating on the accessories she is sporting, making them look as the campaign’s ultimate protagonists. Lawrence also appeared to be smitten by Dior’s Diorever and Diorama bags, as she called them “chic, stylish and cool”.
As for the ensembles Lawrence is donning, the Dior fall/winter 2016-17 campaign truly gives minimalism a new, fancier name, with staples that include cozy, Cruella Deville-inspired white coats, warm sweaters with sophisticated bateau collars, along with logo printed foulards and high-neck sweaters with puffed shoulders.
The campaign features a slightly Eighties-inspired animal printed double-breasted coat as well, the sharp lines of which create an appealing contrast with the overall softer cuts and materials of the other pieces.
A tousled updo and an au naturel makeup look complete the campaign’s pictures with otherworldly, ethereal vibes that are very dear to Jennifer Lawrence herself too, as seen in all of her films and pictures around the web.
The Dior fall/winter 2016-17 ad campaign has officially launched worldwide today, September 5th.
