Beautiful and feminine are too simple words to describe the entire charm of the brand-new Jenny Packham spring/summer 2015 collection that has just been unveiled at New York Fashion Week spring 2015. The elegance and unique style every single dress showcased bore instantly reminded of Marilyn Monroe (even the hairstyles of the models were in the Monroe style), who hasn’t ceased inspiring designers, artists and fashion addicts ever since she first made appearance on the screens. “Monroe — I started noticing that every day I see her in some form. In L.A. I found myself by accident in her bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel and weeks later, with shaking hands, I held her most iconic dresses…” the famous British fashion designer noted talking about her source of inspiration for this breathtaking collection, which pays a tribute to the glorious ‘50s and ‘60s fashion that defined Monroe’s iconic style.
It’s not in vain that the Duchess of Cambridge is a huge fan of the Jenny Packham brand. The designer always knows how to deliver the ideal proportions of elegance and femininity through her simplistic, yet totally bewitching designs. The Jenny Packham spring/summer 2015 collection doesn’t lag behind in this sense, as it has the ideal everything for dressing a modern woman beautifully for every occasion, be it a picnic and a stroll in the city or a red carpet event. Mixing the old with the new and the delicate, she has managed to present one of the prettiest spring collections at New York Fashion Week.
Delicate was not only the entire style of the Jenny Packham spring/summer 2015 collection, but also the choice of the color palette, encompassing mild pastel shades occasionally broken by deep tones of burgundy and black. Lovely floral prints and appliqués, sheer fabrics, velvet and metallic materials, sequins, beadwork and beautiful golden feather prints are the following details that do make a statement in this collection.
The show started with pastel soft pink tones being used for designing that simplistic straight tea-length dress adorned with jewels and the long strapless gown with feather prints. Next we saw some pastel lilac dresses and then the fire-red sequined pieces came to add a bit of boldness to the collection. The switch was towards sweet pink tones then again used for two feminine tea-length dresses, which were followed by some wonderful designs with lots of floral appliqués and the deep burgundy pieces giving modesty and sense to the collection.
We especially loved the blue array of designs, like that simple tea-length straight dress topped with a brown satin short cape, the sleeveless jumpsuit do ideal for sporting to a picnic, and the boat-neck body-conscious dress with shimmery patterns. Next, we saw a couple of stunning pieces in nude tones, and an uber-sweet sleeveless gown featuring a big bow on the top part. Feminine and strict black dresses and a white dup of a tea-length straight skirt and a see-trough shirt made an appearance later.
Still, the most astounding part of the Jenny Packham spring/summer 2015 collection was that about the evening gowns and dresses, put in pastel blue, yellow and light gray shades and adorned with tons of floral appliqués and prints in some of the cases. It was here that the immense creativity and talent of the designer to make a woman feel feminine and beautiful took one’s breath away! We are pretty confident Kate Middleton will pick more than one pieces from this collection creating enviable looks for various occasions!
