Jil Sander Navy Spring/ Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear – NYFW

The Jil Sander Navy spring 2017 ready-to-wear looks were very colorful, loose fitting and bright. The looks are practical and feature aspects that women have been asking for in fashion for years, like real, usable pockets on dresses. The brand tried to capture the French aristocracy in its easy-to-wear and chic collection that’s perfect for wearing to the office or on a daily basis.

The looks were cute, due to the colors and silhouettes, which were varied and uncomplicated while still maintaining a detailed and interesting look. The patters were easy and went well with a variety of other pieces in the collection. There were multi-piece ensembles that could clearly be mixed and matched throughout the collection. Interestingly enough the ability to mix and match pieces from one look to another is one of the stand-out features of this collection.

Jil Sander’s spring/summer 2017 collection was smooth in its transition from look to look and each piece definitely held a sense of lighthearted fun. The jewelry and shoes were pretty and complemented each outfit well.

Some of the most interesting pieces in the collection were the jackets. The color combinations were nice and cleanly designed and would look well even mixed with pieces from other collections which is one of the best features a clothing item can have. Even the more voluminous pieces managed to still have a light and airy feel to them, which is amazing as voluminous pieces can be very intimidating.

Though most fashion is not designed to be unassuming, this is a line that pulls that off without becoming a wallflower’s wardrobe. The designs were clearly created with a certain consumer in mind and do not deviate wildly from that ideal consumer, but many of the pieces could be elevated with an addition of a strong piece if that is the direction a person wanted to take. This makes the Jil Sander spring and summer 2017 collection very extensible and thus customizable, which is one of the greatest achievements a collection can have for its consumers.

I believe that Jil Sander’s collection is a brilliantly designed and very spring and summer time hued collection that is very accommodating for so many people. The styling of each look is easy and accommodating for several body types and personalities. The ability for the looks to be adapted for any person’s personal styling preferences is a great boost for the brand.

This collection is a great, light hearted and fun looking set of outfits and it gives off an air of being easy going yet fashionable. The accommodating nature of this collection is as incredible as the robust color combinations and the easygoing air of the overall look.
