Jonathan Saunders Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – London Fashion Week

When you dress such big names as Michelle Obama, Madonna, Sienna Miller or Kylie Minogue, you simply can never err as a fashion designer! The Jonathan Saunders spring/summer 2015 collection unveiled on the third day of London Fashion Week spring 2015 came to prove that the Scottish designer has a tremendous talent in bringing innovation to the fashion scene and turning simplistic pieces into masterpieces thanks to a wonderful play of colors and subtle prints added! Famous for his skill to presents prints in a unique way and his great silk screening techniques, the designer surely delivered a wonderful symphony of patterns in his spring collection, at the same time bringing new cool vibes that still bear that iconic Saunders signature.

Slight masculine vibes are the first details that catch one’s attention when looking through these stunning looks. These are put as knee-length tailored roomy shorts and classic capri pants that come matched with uber-cute and girly tops and jackets, which are spiced up with modern style solutions, being the oversized bows attached to the necks or the waist. The overall inclination towards blue shades is the next noteworthy detail about the Jonathan Saunders spring/summer 2015 collection. Still, we also see versatile browns, camel tones, whites, blacks and creams that create such a wonderful love affair with touches of teal, blue or metallic hues. The creative way of adding oversized bows and lots of floral appliqués to the garments kind of makes the looks appear a bit bulky and heavily layered, which still look so pretty.
As many previously unveiled collections at fashion week have proved layering is an It trend this spring. This is a great way of combining prints with each other, color blocking and mix and matching styles that can lead to memorable outfits. This way, the Jonathan Saunders spring/summer 2015 collection demonstrates a unique way of layering, showing looks that feature a knee-length leather skirt, for instance, topped with a slightly elongated shirt, which in its turn is topped with a knitted sweater worn under a stylish leather jacket. That makes four layers in a look, and however surprising it may sound, this still looks harmonious and perfectly balanced (maybe that’s due to the designs of those garments and the color combinations).

An ode to nature can also be felt in the collection, as we discover the multiple leaf prints and the beautiful floral appliqués adorning the whole lengths of some skirts and tops. The use of metallic fabrics gives a festive-like approach to the collection, providing Saunders fans with fresh party outfit ideas. We also adore the transparency plays and the unique bulky shapes of the skirts, like the ones that appear in the finale of the show.
Wholly, the Jonathan Saunders spring/summer 2015 collection manages to combine simplicity with innovation and modern vibes, this way bringing looks that will definitely appeal to sassy fashionisers. Ohm and this surely refers to the gorgeous footwear options too, especially the two pairs of flat ankle-length black leather booties that look so rad! We still have to repeat it and tell you that we have yet another favorite collection for spring now!
