Emporio Armani, Fendi, Gucci, Alberta Ferretti…who are we missing? The Just Cavalli spring/summer 2015 collection also joins this hit list of fashion lines unveiled for Milan Fashion Week spring 2015. The Italian fashion boasts with some of the world’s best known fashion houses and designers and we are overly confident the name Roberto Cavalli is known even to those who are not, in fact, interested in fashion. Just Cavalli, one of the main labels created by the Florence-born Italian designer, is primarily designed to meet the demands of young audiences. The most distinctive features of this youth-oriented brand are the creation of youthful and modern collections with traditional prints (animal and floral), the use of fur and leather and the sense of glamour that Cavalli pieces transfer.
As expected, floral and ethnic prints as well as warm colors were not missing from the Just Cavalli spring/summer 2015 collection. In spite of the abundance of colors, the collection looked very calm and relaxed, the complex patterns and color combinations were pure joy for our eyes to watch.
To open the Just Cavalli spring/summer 2015 collection show, Roberto Cavalli had chosen a flowy and weightless asymmetrical dress designed of a see-through sheer material that was embellished with all sorts of patterns in light blue, green and purple. These three colors kept on reappearing on the designs that followed in forms of patterns on collared long sleeve blouses that were matched with dark blue pants, on knee length dress with very interesting necklines, on miniskirts and hip hugger pant, on jackets and so on.
To add more colors and a brighter mood to the collection, Cavalli had put together black, white and red. Black leather jackets enriched by patched of black, white and red and a bit of gold looked perfect for summer evenings. Other items that we loved from the new Just Cavalli collection were those printed, layered chiffon dresses. The prints, by the way, were rather different and unmatching and put together they created some sort of color and pattern chaos, a chaos that we actually liked!
But it was the second part of the show that demonstrated the collection’s true hippie soul. Short jackets made of textured fabric in pastel colors were matched with form fitting pants with side leather belts, knee length vests were paired with light blue pants, long sleeve blouses with ethnic patterns were worn with matching flowy skirts with several slits.
With outfits being mostly in pastel tones to create a contrast, the shoes that were designed to complement them were in gold! That was a bold move, but looked quite chic. Of accessories that were presented, those black clutches with shiny lip pattern are sure going to make it into our “favorite accessories of Milan Fashion Week” list.
For us, the Just Cavalli spring/summer 2015 collection was all about amore. Perfecto don Cavalli! You never cease to surprise us in the most pleasant way.
