Karl Lagerfeld showed off a simple and ultra chic spring 2017 ready-to-wear capsule collection at Paris Fashion Week. The overall look is fun and modern as well, designed with clean lines and a focus on the handbags and shoes.
The sporty elements are still very chic, such as the silky and light-racing stripe accented blouson paired with loose fitting black pants and a pair of white sneakers. The real eye catcher of this ensemble is the handbag – the Karl Lagerfeld cleverly named Kuilted (pronounced quilted) leather handbag, with the K shape embroidered in to make the quilted appearance. The strap is leather and large chain, which gives the bag an extra cool detail.
The Karl Lagerfeld spring/summer 2017 capsule collection featured 7 ensembles that included 3 perfect LBDs. One is an ankle-length maxi dress with a sheer overlay and pleating accents. The model is styled without jewelry and has her hair center parted and slicked back, leaving the focus entirely on the dress, with its flowing and floating hemline and pleated waist accent.
The first piece, an above-the-knee little black dress, has cutouts that create a diamond shaped bodice accented with a textured waist detail that is matched on the neckline, the ends of the cap sleeves and along the hem of the dress. It is a beautiful black on black design accented by the Karl Lagerfeld clutch with his first name spread along the front in magazine cutout reminiscent letters.
The last of the LBDs is a draped sheath jersey dress with a boat neck that is flattering and looks very comfortable – the ideal characteristics of the perfect LBD. It is paired with a jewel and pearl detailed drawstring bag in white, a nice watch and white platform Karl sneakers.
The coolest look is the leather front leggings paired with the grey top and the three-quarter-length ocean storm grey and black tuxedo jacket. This look was paired with leather fingerless gloves, a good Karl Lagerfeld watch that did not steal all the attention, the signature Karl clutch emblazoned with his signature and very cool Karl Lagerfeld low top sneakers.
A mid-length black vest over a sporty white zip-front shirt was also paired with black leggings and incredibly cool black, white and red tweed slip-on Karl Lagerfeld sneakers. Even better, the matching bag featured was a tweed detailed flap-front Karl Lagerfeld handbag with gold metal closure. The pieces were interesting, offering a lot of details for so few looks.
The light, taupe jumpsuit looked cool and architectural with an asymmetrical zipper, sleeve details and the stunning Karl signature clutch in the perfect size. This outfit was paired with a pair of platform black and white slip-on sandals and a blue and gold Karl watch. The textured details on the jumpsuit were amazing and will easily be one of the most sought after outfits of the capsule collection.
