Karl Lagerfeld + Zalando for Sportswear

There is a new collection in town and it is known simply as the Karl Lagerfeld Sport City designed for Zalando. It is fashionable, feminine, and downright flattering on the female figure. Notice all the F’s? Yes, this is a totally F collection that gains an A+ in our books. There may not be many pieces in the collection, but whatever there is, we cannot wait to get our hands on. They are beyond lovely and entirely too perfect for looking great while working out. Just be careful not to let anyone peek under that skirt of yours while you are pumping that iron.

Karl Lagerfeld + Zalando for Sportswear

The Berlin based retailer known as Zalando is a giant in the world of fashion. We have seen many a collaboration in the past few years, Lagerfeld himself starting the trend, so it comes as no surprise that more and more retailers are bringing in the big guns in order to gain an edge over their competitors. Giants meet the famous in the fashion industry and somehow the loveliest of line-ups are born, this time around between a famous chain and a doubly famous designer. The best part is that it is all about sports, which gives the ladies a bit of a sexier advantage at the gym or with a racket in hand as they run back and forth across the field.

Normally, one would have imagined that Lagerfeld would not be caught dead designing sweatpants. Somehow we see a 180-degree turn being made and the famed artist working on just that, sweatpants for a sporty collection where you know that is the one piece that is going to sell like hot buns. Where he used to state rather loudly that “sweatpants are the sign of defeat,” the tune has now changed and apparently wearing a piece from this collab is sure to sign you on for victory. The partnership with Zalando has been good for him and we are more than happy to see the pieces that have been created just for the lady fans out there that enjoy a good workout.

The creative director of Chanel has certainly outdone himself with “Karl Lagerfeld Sports City”, wherein he features sweatpants, dresses, blousons, shirts and bags, all in fabrics of breathable neoprene, perforated leather, cotton and crepe. The skirt would go well on a run it appears, looking sexy as hell, while the sweatpants are totally yoga, Pilates, and perfect for hitting the gym in order to do them squats and dumbbell trainings. That tee has us smiling really, as it features Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette, while the dress would be perfect worn on the field either to play soccer or with a racket in hand to drive home the winning point in tennis, badminton or even some squash. The running shoes are stylish yet comfortable, utilitarian without giving up on its aesthetics and showing off toned legs as a sports shoe should. We are already planning on which awesome pair to grab!
