If we are to look at the top models of our day, we would be pleasantly surprised to find the likes of Karlie Kloss in the mix, with her statuesque body and incredibly chiseled visage. As the new year rolls around and each designer or fashion house begins revealing the first in the 2016 ad campaigns, beginning with the spring, Topshop does not hesitate to show off the fact that the new face of its campaign is indeed the spectacular Karlie Kloss. While some opt for a few models to head the campaigns, with Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Natasha Poly and the Bell sisters, Ruth and May among the ladies given the honor of representing a top company, Kloss shows off her features for the Topshop spring 2016 campaign all on her own. You can “be more Karlie in 2016” shopping the collection now on Topshop.com!
It has been eight years since her first campaign and Kloss is returning to her favorite retailer, back then having appeared in the campaign with Jourdan Dunn by her side. The British company certainly embraces her it appears as the blonde model appears to be enjoying the sophisticated chic look with the underlying sex appeal. From prim and proper business suits in black and white to gorgeous shift dresses in a festive red, casual ensembles of striped shirts and white sneakers to zip-up varsity jackets over leather pants, we have a campaign for spring that is simply out of this world and there is more than one piece with Karlie’s name emblazoned across the back.
The brand’s creative director, Kate Phelan takes Kloss to New York for the shoot, the images themselves appearing all over today on print, in stores and through online advertising, social media included. Kloss is easily described as the “ultimate Topshop girl and modern super — a world-renowned fashion figure, businesswoman, entrepreneur and philanthropist who will resonate with our global customers through her many talents, ambitions and passions.” She is, in essence quite perfect for the job, a lady with the future in mind who has learned to code and can keep up with technology as the best of the go forth.
Topshop was one of her first modelling jobs and she is not likely to forget it. “My grandmother brought me over from St. Louis. I was young and shy and super nervous. Luckily, I was shooting with Jourdan Dunn and we became overnight best friends.” Today, Kloss herself is one of the best in the industry, alongside her best friend, with Topshop making sure that it highlights all of the model’s efforts in the world, including her Karlie’s Kookies program where the proceedings from the sale of her treats go to underprivileged children around the world, alongside up-and-coming young American fashion designers.
And since she so fully understands the need for coders as the future becomes the present, her Kode with Karlie fund helps provide scholarships for 21 women from 11 states to attend full time courses in software engineering, thus setting up their future quite comfortably. We are more than proud to have a model such as Kloss as the face of our favorite Topshop brand!
