The Kate Spade spring/summer 2014 collection unveiled on the second day of New York Fashion Week takes us to a world tour this spring, a European one more specifically. Once again Kate Spade managed to be one of the most vibrant, colorful and cheerful lines showcased during NYFW. For the new spring 2014 season, the brand’s creative director, Deborah Lloyd drew inspiration from three of the most iconic European destinations: Paris, Capri and Monaco. The result? Perfection in every details and a vibrancy that enchants!
The Kate Spade girl starts her Europe trip this spring, making Paris her first stop. Inspired from the gorgeous French gardens, the Kate Spade spring/summer 2014 collection trellis printed peplum tops matched with classy cigarette pants and the abstract bougainvillea motif that so much Paris!
Next, we see Capri-inspired eye-catching lemon prints used on the vintage full-skirted sundresses, casual tennis shoes and fab capri pants. This perfect trip ends in Monaco, from where the Kate Spade spring/summer 2014 collection takes the oversized sunhats, the nautical inspired dresses and the checkerboard clutches.
Since Ms. Lloyd looked to the streets and gardens of Europe to create her spring 2014 fashion line, it was quite expected to see the models posing on a luscious garden-inspired backdrop. As always, they weren’t walking, but were standing there flaunting their bright outfits, spectacular accessories and the attention-grabbing polished nails.
Again accessories take the lead at Kate Spade. The Kate Spade spring/summer 2014 collection brings a roomy beach bag with the “When Life Hands You Lemons” inscription, vintage books resembling rectangular clutches, racing cars shaped rings, checkered shoulder bags, as well as stylish sunglasses and high-heeled shoes with small bows on.
Bright red, yellow, fuchsia, metallic baby blue, cream, white and black… Floral prints, stripes, checks and lemon motifs… The Kate Spade spring/summer 2014 collection screams summer in every detail, but also inspires us to organize our upcoming journey to the sunny spots of Europe!
