Laura Biagiotti’s spring/summer 2017 show at Milan Fashion Week was full of color and bright summer style. There was a barrage of color in a variety of patterns from stripes to florals to all white ensembles, all of which were incredibly bright and cheerful. The silhouettes came in a great range, from slim and long to floating and accented with ruffles.
Some of the pieces were a bright, patterned silk that caught the light from every angle. There were pieces for every point during the day and night, from day dresses to work-ready proposals and elegant options for evenings.
Some of the silhouettes featured a tiered design that still managed to remain sleek, in a bright pink and white vertical striped print, as well as aqua and neon green stripes with aqua blue shoes. Every look was beautifully accessorized with bright sunglasses or beautiful jewelry and in some cases a stunning belt.
The boatneck neckline was shown on several different outfits, one of which was a floor-length printed silk maxi dress that was stunning from every angle, perfectly accented with brown tinted lensed sunglasses and gold sandals. The spring and summer theme was strong all the way through the collection encompassing the crisp white ensembles that are perfect for work and brunch.
Many of the outfits featured waist-accentuating details, but regardless of the details of the look, the fits were still flattering. The scarf-style dresses were abundant in Laura Biagiotti’s spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection, and I feel that the runway show and Milan Fashion Week were the better for it. Halters and wrap dresses bore the bright, shimmering material and each was a statement of its own.
Not unsurprisingly the main color in a lot of these patterned materials was yellow, a bright bold option for spring 2017, but bright reds and rich blues were seen as well. Some of the pieces were interesting with soft feather shoulder accents and knits matched with rich yet sheer skirts. Though completely unexpected, they were welcome and interesting additions that would look well matched with a variety of other pieces.
This Italian fashion line has been strong since the first show in 1972. The House of Biagiotti is one of the largest Italian fashion houses. The stunning and vibrant styles shown during Laura Biagiotti’s spring and summer 2017 runway show was everything that could be expected of Laura Biagiotti’s pristine name.
As a well-awarded designer, her style and fashion sense have been loved around the world, it is no wonder the accolade heavy name and fashions of Laura Biagiotti produced so many beautiful pieces for this collection.
