Unveiled at this super exciting New York Fashion Week, the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s fall 2016 runway collection not only is a pure pleasure to watch, but is already available for purchase at Kohls.com! Known for her ladylike style, this is Lauren Conrad’s second venture with Kohl’s, with the first collection having received overall good feedback earlier this year.
This time around, Lauren Conrad focused on more conventionally autumnal ensembles, the shades and textures of which delicately recall the dreamy mood of the colder seasons. Alongside the collection’s gloomier and most glamorous pieces, Conrad did, however, deliver a few more cheerful proposals too, dipping them in softer colors, such as blush pink and lilac.
One of the pink ensembles might be particularly familiar to many of you, as she wore it at the CFDA Awards in June – the metallic maxi skirt in blush pink. “I wore this on the carpet,” she said backstage. “I should wear my own pieces — I’m so proud of them!”
The LC Lauren Conrad x Kohl’s fall 2016 runway collection could be overall described as a romantic array of staples Lauren Conrad would actually sport on a daily basis, from more bridesmaid-inspired evening dresses to day-to-day casual-chic outfits. Before designing this second collection with Kohl’s, Conrad took some time trying to understand what her customers want (which is something Rebecca Minkoff did as well), translating such desires into something that could be equally trendy and sophisticated.
“I love designing a second collection, because you know so much more; it’s great to see what customers responded to, and what they want more of. I learned that my customer really loves a moto jacket, so we brought it back in three colors,” she told Refinety29, explaining that her second LC Lauren Conrad x Kohl’s line-up is definitely “more elevated, with more luxe fabrics and more fashion-forward silhouettes; and moodier, deeper tones. The first collection was more bright, light, and ethereal.”
To top it all off, she did travel back to the Californian girl style she used to channel back in the day when The Hills was still airing, yet focusing on the mistakes she made rather than on the combination of clothes she became famous for.
The LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s fall 2016 collection features a well-variegated accessory line too, which this time around doesn’t include headbands. Sandals and clutches appear to perfectly complete the feminine looks Conrad filled her line-up with, which mainly include layered gown and hourglass-shaped sweaters.
Sheer long sleeves adorn most of the total-black evening proposals, while floral embroideries decorate the most romantic garments. Conrad’s Californian style got revamped in its more Hollywood-inspired way, with faux furs getting paired with sleek slip dresses and velvet pants. Cute airy shirts got eventually matched with total black mini dresses, romantically encapsulating the overall collection’s bon-ton spirit.
The collection is strong on the jackets too, with the bikers dominating the scene and the kimono-sleeved suede ones creating an appealing contrast with the Nineties-inspired proposals.
With price tags that range from $44 to $150, the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s runway collection is available in sizes XS to XL (0 to 16).
