The Longchamp spring/summer 2017 ready-to-wear lineup unveiled at Paris Fashion Week was youthful, chic and sporty in the best of ways. Though the collection featured a lot of pink – a whole lot – there were different shades of pink broken up with graphic lines, florals, black, which is the best way to boost or enhance another color, and a variety of silhouettes before the collection switched to other colors.
Cherry blossoms were heavily featured alongside black and blue piping and bits of raspberry mixed in. The colors of the collection went from soft pink before pieces in rich burgundy and stunning midnight blue showed up and then the collection began winding down into a light blue version of the beginning of the collection. It was a solid collection, bookended in prints and styles.
The Longchamp spring 2017 collection consisted almost entirely of separates and was completely devoid of a single pair of pants, but that did not affect the overall wearability for a spring and summer collection. In the spirit of spring there were shorts amongst the skirts and dresses of the collection.
Unsurprisingly considering the overall aesthetics of the collection, the footwear was simple and easy, including sandals and ballet flats in a wide variety of prints and shades. The winning handbags were just as captivating as the rest of the collection and perfectly in line with the overall aesthetics.
The highlights of this collection were definitely the jackets. In each print and design they were gorgeously cut and would very likely be a favorite staple in most wardrobes. There are bombers and moto jackets that feature sporty racing stripes and brilliant use of nylon mesh and soft jersey.
The outfits seem like a trendy update to the separates ensembles shown throughout the 1995 Clueless movie starring Alicia Silverstone, Stacy Dash and Brittany Murphy that was based off Jane Austen’s 1815 novel Emma. It is very likely that this collection will hold the same meaning and feel for a lot of customers who love the overall look and feel.
The clothes in the Longchamp spring and summer 2017 ready-to-wear collection were incredibly bright and fun, but still managed to seem young, relatable and desirable while looking upscale. One of the most endearing pieces of the collection was a soft springtime pink lambskin coat with sporty moto jacket styled shoulders accented with stripes and complemented by jersey.
The coat was beautiful, with a soft, supple look that reflected the overall look of the line, while standing out as well. This was a great spring collection, smoothly and beautifully implemented and styled.
