Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – Paris Fashion Week

“Today we present a collection of discordant elements, full of stories and memories,” read the note on the social accounts of Maison Martin Margiela today, preparing us for a collection of contrasts, clashing styles and designs that will certainly triumph in the coming bright season. The Maison Martin Margiela spring/summer 2015 collection shows a striving to bring pretty modern designs with a subtle vibe of futurism and the iconic quirky style of Margiela. Still, this collection appeared to be rather relaxed and modest, when it comes to the weird style interpretations as we are used to getting from the luxurious fashion house. The ultimate wearability and the polished elegance are other noteworthy attributes that make the new Maison Martin Margiela spring 2015 collection a winning fashion destination for sassy girls this warm season.

The relaxed feel of the Maison Martin Margiela spring/summer 2015 collection was provided not only through those apron and housedresses resembling pieces, but also the universal color palette, featuring lots of navy blues, beige tones, whites and blacks at times interrupted with pops of greens and fuchsias. Delicate pinstripe patterns, small dots and lovely floral prints bringing mainly daisy patterns scattered through the entire collection came to boost the sweet and playful style of the entire line. Those daisies were even hand painted on the bubbly sunglasses, making them real statement-making details for It girls.
Asymmetric shapes, unexpected structures and a perfect tailoring take a center stage in this collection, adorning both those smart tuxedo-style dresses with a casual feel and the prairie dresses imbued with lovely floral prints. Some outfits looked pretty formal, yet spiced up with a modern, playful note, like the duo of the pinstripe tailored navy blue trousers and the asymmetric top in the same shade and print plays.
The majority of the looks presented were smart and ideally structural, yet the overall relaxed style made them look much more casual. This way, we discover an array of asymmetric skirts in different hues and prints tied around the waists of the models like aprons and matched with simplistic sleeveless tops in the matching shades with the skirts. The usage of shiny brocade reminded us of the traditional kimono fabric and style, and there we even discovered a lovely dress, resembling a modern kimono dress: it was a heavily floral printed straight tea-length dress with a super high slit, coming matched with a waist-enhancing belt.

Apart from this, the Maison Martin Margiela spring/summer 2015 collection also unveiled some breezy jackets, nude bodysuits, casual denim pants, knitted tops and sheer knit tube dresses and skirts, thus providing us with all the necessary details for looking Margiela-appropriate cool on any occasion. No less spectacular were those minimalist flat leather sandals and the few imaginative bags used to add flavor to the minimalist looks.
The Maison Martin Margiela spring/summer 2015 collection captured our hearts instantly with its one-of-a-kind and polished designs, and we are sure to see many It girls sporting those aprons in the coming spring!
