Are you looking for some pieces to wear both at the beach and at any summer night party? Here comes our beloved Spanish retailer Mango offering its breezy summer 2016 collection filled with eclectic and full of personality seaside-approved garments.
Named ‘Welcome Summer’, Mango’s summer 2016 lookbook perfectly captures summer’s essence and the main trends of the season, showcasing the brand’s creations on an idyllic background that will instantly make the onlookers feel the urge to soak up some sun and relax on the beach. If not the settings, it is Mango’s pieces to make you feel nostalgic and longing for those long, sunny summer days, mainly thanks to the vibrant colors used, the intricate embroideries, and the perfectly mixed and matched patterns.
Mango’s summer 2016 collection is all about patterns, bringing in different kinds of prints in one look, not to mention the incredible amount of color-blocking motifs that just make everything look even more cheerful. Not for nothing the line-up’s main source of inspiration comes from what the most fashionable people wore in the Nineties, namely slip dresses, multi-colored striped tank tops, palazzo pants and oversized cardigans.
There are, of course, a few Seventies references too, mainly brought through the trapeze lines, structured cuts, botanical patterns and off-the-shoulder necklines. The sheer fabrics and crochet embroideries perfectly recall both the decades, treating us to oversized mini dresses and fresh, delicate tops with plunging V necklines.
Aside from the aforementioned V and off-the-shoulder necklines, the collection also features a few more sophisticated American necklines, which in the campaign got matched with an elegant updo and a pair of dangling earrings (and if you are looking for some accessories to complete your outfits, we particularly recommend those signed Mango!).
Safari-inspired shirts, along with more modern versions of the classic Oxford shirts prove their versatility when combined both with Mango’s bikini tops and short shorts, almost reminding us of this year’s signature androgynous style. A relaxed jumpsuit with polka dots interrupts the overall multi-colored theme with its geometric strictness, while a pair of mom jeans with a shredded look will work perfectly with a delicate off-the-shoulder blouse, proving this collection is for everyone, indeed.
When it comes to the season’s hottest swimwear proposals, Mango seems to be willing to mix its previous collections all together, so we will easily find both a safari-inspired bandeau top with botanical patterns, and a more romantic striped bikini with crochet detailing.
