Marni Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – Milan Fashion Week

Looking for a unique and spectacular mishmash of sporty and cool looks? Then the Marni spring/summer 2014 collection unveiled at Milan Fashion Week would definitely interest you! Consuelo Castiglioni this time did her best to create a second-to-none line, with its typically distinguished features and characteristic elements. The latter cover the models from top to bottom, starting from headwear and finishing up with awesome flip-flops, which add an absolutely different shift on the conceptual image formed by the other details and change the main direction of flow of the style to another destination.

The shapes selected for the garments are sharp and a bit strict, at times even carrying the kimono influence on them. The complementing details include interesting headwear, heavy, yet perfectly matching accessories and narrow belts fastening the jumpsuits and the skirts. Floor length dresses, all black or with floral prints are the pinches of elegance on the sporty background of the pieces. The awesome leisurewear jumpsuits and pants and even straight pencil-like skirts have the specific thematic touch of being comfortable, cool and good-looking. The cute looks of the ruffled peplum pieces are just unforgettable on the other hand.
As we’ve seen from many other lines as well, elegance gets on best with floral motives. The Marni spring/summer 2014 collection is not an exception either. Here as well, we see some interesting ways of putting those floral ideas to action. Talking about the shapes, we can’t but mention the bald and alluring V-cuts. They are the guarantees against any even tiny doubts of being too casual or boring. In case of some dresses and especially skirts, the draped and “tied” designs are also worth highlighting.

Finally, it’s the beadwork, which comes last but not least, serving as a wonderful finishing part for the Marni show. It’s here that we finally make distinct conclusions about the color palette as well, stating that it mainly consists of monochrome black and white shades, sometimes broken in with some cream tones, as well as bright red, darker green shades and greyish overtones.
Thus, after seeing several variants of the interpretation of various mishmashes about elegant and sporty looks, even combined with ethnic and achronic motives, we can safely state that the Marni spring/summer 2014 collection serves as a new type of introducing this very concept, put in absolutely other frames.
