Matthew Williamson Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – London Fashion Week

It’s official now! Floral prints are one of the hottest spring 2015 fashion trends, and the astounding Matthew Williamson spring/summer 2015 collection just showcased at London Fashion Week spring 2015 proves this too through the wonderfully floral printed pieces demonstrated! It’s a collection that pays a tribute to the enchanting retro vibes, beautiful colors and playful nature inspired prints, thus becoming one of the most sought-after fashion lines for spring. “For Summer 2015, the MW girl comes into her own. She’s channeling a long, hot summer and referencing images of Marie Helvin taken in the seventies by David Bailey,” the English fashion designer stated before the show.

Thus, the Matthew Williamson spring/summer 2015 collection kicked off with beautiful burgundy, salmon pink and red shades, romantic floral prints and embroidery and timeless retro shapes, which together lead to perfection. The beginning of the show presented a stylish casual pants suit with pants featuring slightly wide legs, a V-neck flowing dress reaching below the knees and coming adorned with a waist enhancing burgundy belt, a pair of classic tailored red trousers matched with an unbuttoned printed shirt and a flowing printed maxi dress with a thin blue belt fastened on the waist. Next, along the floral and nature inspired prints, the collection also brought some geometric motifs and artistic brushstroke patterns.
Wholly, the Matthew Williamson spring/summer 2015 collection takes a bit subdued turn, bringing mainly burgundy, salmon and deep red shades put with blues and dark greens (this is yet another way of embracing the ‘70s). However, there are also some pops of yellows that try hard to liven up the collection. Soft ruffles, peplums, chiffon, tweed, crochet, feathery motifs, cropped shapes and interesting retro cuts are other key details defining the collection.
Next to those flirty printed mini dresses, tailored pants and shorts suits, airy unbuttoned shirts revealing the deep cleavage of the models, fab duos of crop tops and printed skirts, the Matthew Williamson spring/summer 2015 collection also brings some utterly breathtaking eveningwear designs, which beautifully closed the show. Adorned with lots of feathery details, prints, sequins and luxurious beadwork, these pretty short cocktail dresses and maxi gowns with high slits promise to make any woman the queen of the party.

When it comes to the accessorizing details used to spice up the looks, we can mention the beautifully color-blocked heeled sandals, the waist-enhancing belts, the oversized sunglasses, the cross-body chain bag and the cute mini feather bag. The models makeup was kept natural, while the hair was textured and loose with a seep side parting.
Both beauty and fashion wise, the Matthew Williamson spring/summer 2015 collection has lots of tips and trends to teach the fans of this youthful and cool fashion house. So stick to it and channel the beautiful seventies this summer, while looking one-of-a-kind and special as always!
