Max Mara Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Collection – Milan Fashion Week

Holding the lapels closed to ward off the chill, the Max Mara fall/winter 2015-2016 collection has officially found its way onto the Milan Fashion Week runway and we couldn’t be happier to see these incredible looks inspired by Marilyn Monroe. From the beige to the camel hues, the light blue fur moving into herringbone and checks, throwing in some black into the mix as it went along, we saw some elegant and timeless shades. We had white and we had greys, with soft tints and gentle fabrics. There was even a funky leopard print coat to be had, completed with purple moccasins and matching suede large handbag.

The Italian fashion house was founded in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, the “Mara” coming from his surname and the “Max” adding a masculine powerful feel to an international branding. He envisioned the production of high quality designer clothing in ready-to-wear fashions, despite his stare in the couture world. With about 2250 stores in 90 countries, the Maramotti family can officially claim that the legacy left behind is quite monumental. It’s no wonder there were so many fans worldwide excited to see the unveiling of the Max Mara fall/winter 2015-2016 collection. This is a brand that is forevermore maximally stylish with 23 collections covering all manner of wearable garments and accessories.

The pieces presented on the runway today were lovely, sophisticated in their looks and meant for the woman and not the girl. They add a touch of sexy while keeping true to the midi skirt trend falling below the knees, though we do see some cleavage peeking through at times and reminding us that while a woman may cover herself up, she may also revel in the bounty of her body, showing off bits and pieces without offering a bite of the full morsel. There is a certain strength in this type of woman who can don on a garment that shows off her curves without hanging on too tight, the one who takes sheer tops to a new level and adds a camisole underneath for decency’s sake. She likes her fur and she likes her stylish nature, while she cuts her hair in a bob or pulls it into a faux bob and pulls on large glasses that speak of her fashion savvy nature and impeccable intellect.

The Max Mara woman knows she is sexy without having to uncover her body, bringing comfortable fabrics and tailoring to her wardrobe as well as her footwear. There are no heels to be found in this collection, just good old-fashioned flats and moccasins in multiple colors and different fabrics. There is the leather and the suede, the shiny and the matte, the beige and the black, the blue and the white. At the end of the day, the Max Mara collection is simply too lovely to pass by. It may not have a wow factor to it, but it lets a woman breathe, knowing that she can look stylish in the way she loves to dress anyway. That confidence goes a long way and the Max Mara woman is known to be just that: delectably proud in stance.
