While the focus is often on the women when it comes to Fashion Week, men certainly get their own fair share of time in the limelight. Unfortunately for them, even a men’s fashion show can turn into a woman’s preening of good looks and sashing about in designer clothing, even if she is not the true star of the show. The streets of Milan are often abuzz with fashion news and fashion shows, but as we enjoy the men prancing on the catwalk, we cannot help but notice the women who really outshine the models on the runway, with nothing more than their charismatic street styles. Since the women look so good, it might do to mention a few trends in the street styles and specific outfits themselves that really got us going. Check out the street style highlights from Men’s spring 2016 fashion week in Milan below!
What we noticed on the first day of men’s Fashion Week in Milan was the fact that bright colors are traded in for the more muted tones of blue, whether worn with distressed denim or simple trousers, including boots. Anna Dello Russo was among the women who simply rocked her blue and white dress, with long sleeves, a high neck and full skirts to please even the least fashion sensible in the country. Nude colored pumps appear on the streets, paired with burnt orange asymmetrical skirts, and aubergine sweaters pulled over simple white shirts. We have to admit that the floral trend looks pretty good, however, particularly on handbags. Bet you never realized you could attend a fashion show in ripped up jeans and a simple white tee, did you? Though, we have to admit that nothing beats the slouchy trend in pinstripes with a straw hat overhead for added artistic design during the day.
On the second day of the Fashion Week, we discovered a new array of styles appearing on the streets, worn by both men and women. However, as usually, the women looked particularly spectacular, especially in wearing lace and denim, along with the cutest of dresses that can come in the accordion like fall of the fabrics. Funky denim dresses have appeared for the events, worn with nude colored gladiator sandals, the skirts falling all around in an asymmetrical manner that looks almost as if the material was taken and merely wrapped around the figure in a haphazard manner. Culottes, plunging necklines and floral prints all make their own appearance throughout the day as well. Nothing beats wearing an awesome shirtdress though, especially paired with a fringed oversized handbag.
Simple dresses, miniskirts with ringed circle holes and dainty floral prints against black backgrounds were huge on the third day of the men’s Fashion Week in Milan, while blue denim skirts that fall below the knees with a slit up the center, paired with a white tee certainly grabs at our attention. All white getups are in and appearing beautifully on the streets, paired with leopard print pumps, while twin sets of tops and bottoms with the same cut-outs keep their spot in one of the top trends of the year, albeit less noticeable than during the spring.
