The coolest thing just happened! Honestly, who doesn’t remember spending hours upon hours playing the most spectacular games ever and having the time of your life with a Nintendo system? Super Mario will forever remain in our hearts and our fondest memories, particularly those of us millennials born in the late 1980s, who spent days with family members not yet burdened with life, sitting before a television screen with a console in hand, yelling at Mario not to die. Jeremy Scott of Moschino has teamed up with the awesome brand for a rather nostalgic capsule collection, complete with star and mushroom earrings! Super Mario has officially become Super Moschino!
“It’s a-me, Mario!” Oh, how we miss the little guy from our childhoods, much preferring the old consoles oftentimes, with the old graphics and simpler designs to the modern 3D versions. Nintendo is still the coolest game system out there and we are not the only ones who think so. The Moschino Nintendo collection is virtually the coolest new design, with a very handy Mario character depicted with all sorts of tools, the sweater dress it appears on with the official colors to the name, looking quite covetable. There are handbags, backpacks and all sorts of accessories as part of the collection as well.
In the past, Jeremy Scott has done multiple nostalgic collections for Moschino with childhood memory game brands, including Barbie, Spongebob Squarepants, Powerpuff Girls, Looney Toons, etc. It matters not that we are looking at Hasbro, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Warner Brothers, or any other creator. At the end of the day, we can sit back and enjoy the awesomeness that is a line-up inspired by childhood memories.
The Moschino Super Mario collection was unveiled just in time for everyone to begin getting their Christmas shopping done. Celebrating Nintendo’s 30th anniversary, Super Mario has become Super Moschino and his mushrooms lovingly grace the cover of some rather lovely handbags. There are shirts and sweaters, handbags and earrings, all portraying the best of the best from the Nintendo world. The line officially became available on December 5, 2015, with the world introduced to various paraphernalia featuring everyone from the main brothers Mario and Luigi to Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser and many others. It is now available in select stores around the world, along with the fashion house’s official website.
Nintendo is a Japanese multinational company actually founded back in 1889, as a company that produced Hanafuda playing cards. It has really come a long way, throughout the decades moving into multiple niche business industries, including cab services and love hotels. The word itself is roughly translated to “leave luck to heaven” and as of the 1970s, it has been focused on the video game development industry.
Moschino would be founded afterwards in 1983 as an Italian luxury fashion house that Jeremy Scott has recreated into one of the most intriguing fashion ventures in the world, particularly on the creative ground. It makes us more than happy to see the two top brands in the world collide into a rather lovely capsule collection.
