We, girls, have all dreamt to get minimized to the Barbie doll size to be able to enter her cute pink house, try on her super-sassy and colorful clothes and make friends with her. The Moschino spring/summer 2015 collection gives you the chance to feel like a Barbie doll in the Barbie world, presenting an array of the iconic clothing pieces our favorite leggy doll has been seen wearing. After unveiling a super-vibrant and colorful McDonald’s inspired collection for fall, Jeremy Scott keeps the same pop culture and vibrant theme on, this time turning to the most famous doll in the world and bringing a collection perfumed with pink and neon colors! This is the second season of Jeremy as a creative director for Moschino, and as it’s seen, the popular fashion house is having a historic moment, when it comes to its style heritage.
Pink, light pink, dark pink… Pink for dresses, pink pants, pink skirt suits and pink accessories… Pink is the synonym for the Moschino spring/summer 2015 collection, and it’s quite natural, as all little girls adore this color and all Barbie dolls love wearing pink. To Aqua’s Barbie Girl song the very first real-life Barbie models hit the catwalk wearing head-to-toe pink outfits (even the shoes were pink and there were cute famous Barbie bags in this hue too). Their super-big and fluffy long blonde wigs gave the iconic Barbie touch to their looks, just like those accompanying details, including the uber-colorful and eye-catching earrings, necklaces, belts, tiny bags, suitcases and shoes (Barbie certainly loves dressing up and playing with lots of accessories for polishing her looks).
The entire Moschino spring/summer 2015 collection presentation seemed to be an entire show of various Barbie dolls that have gathered together to party or to stroll in the streets showing off their perfect silhouettes and whimsical style. There you could see the glamorous Barbie, the Business Woman Barbie, the Work Out one, the Cowgirl Barbie, the Jet-Setter Barbie and the fashion-addicted and shopaholic one! One blondie was even wearing a plastic-like bra top in pink, which seemed to be the very bandeau top that the Barbie doll wears, only magnified a few times.
Surely Barbie loves pink, but she also wears bright yellows, oranges, blues, greens, whites and colorfully printed looks. Therefore, the Moschino spring/summer 2015 collection had it all, giving every Barbie doll fan a chance to find something matching for her personality and style. While all those cute mini shorts, crop tops, bikini-printed and patched skirt suits, girly mini dresses and swimwear options were the key items in the collection (and the key garments making us think of Barbie), we al know that Barbie also loves dressing up for special occasions. Thus, the finale of the show presented some sick and absolutely out-of-this-world gowns and maxi dresses with lots of sequins, oversized bows, ruffles, pearlised textures and details.
Jeremy Scott once again managed to unveil the most colorful, imaginative and one-of-a-kind collection for Milan Fashion Week, which instantly brings smiles to the face. So embrace the Barbie inside you and be the queen of the party this coming spring!
