Nicki Minaj is the face of the Roberto Cavalli spring/summer 2015 ad campaign, following Rita Ora, who was the muse for the Italian luxury brand for the fall/winter season. Photographed in sunny Los Angeles by Francesco Carrozzini, she looks strong, retro, sexy and mysterious in a number of dynamic and colorful shots with a colorful background. In the photos, she dons some of the most iconic pieces from the Roberto Cavalli spring/summer 2015 collection, including maxi dresses in different shades, as well as a nude separate with chic embroidery.
Talking about their choice of the new muse, Roberto Cavalli has stated: “I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman. In recent years, we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes. With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong countertrend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves — rather, she turns them into her strength.”
With her jet-black bob hair styled into an outrageous bouffant style and matched with black eyeliner, Nicki looks show-stopping in these photos, also posing lying on a piece of luxury fur, which has always defined Cavalli’s style (remember their trademark animal motifs). Other than demonstrating the hottest Cavalli dresses from their new season collection, Minaj is also placing the focus on the importance of accessories, which are wild, eye-catching and bold like the style ideology of the fashion house is. A spectacular fur bag, another one in the golden reptile skin, metallic heeled sandals, killer sunglasses and jewelry pieces perfect her Cavalli looks, giving more luxury and glamour to the overall Roberto Cavalli spring 2015 campaign.
