A touch of breeze and flowers reached New York Fashion Week with the Nicole Miller spring/summer 2014 collection. Nicole Miller titled her collection Rebels With A Cause meaning, as she later explained, that her characters come from “the gardens of Versailles and storming the castle”. Her inspiration sources have been mazes, gardens, shattered mirrors and chandeliers, the details of which are well defined in every little bit of these Nicole Miller clothing pieces.
The mythical mazes were mainly printed on the dresses, and whether you wanted or not you looked at them attentively trying to find the end of them with your eyes. The shattered printed neoprene dress, knit shell and skirt were also on top of everyone’s attention. In terms of prints, it is also worth mentioning the chandelier prints that were mainly accompanied by wonderful gold embroidery on black, hinting that Victorian fashion is still going to be hot in the upcoming warm season.
The theme of the summer garden in the Nicole Miller spring/summer 2014 collection was reflected mainly in the colorful floral tops and dresses. A silk floral shirt was combined with black and white striped pants or a skirt, and a white suite or jacket. The floral strapless dresses made the models look like bouquets moving in the breeze, and every time they passed by, you wished to breathe the air trying to catch the smell of the spring or summer garden in the breeze.
The entire Nicole Miller spring/summer 2014 collection was bright and attractive. You could feel the breeze of late summer and breathe the freshness of flowers in the floral coats, see the garden mazes, shattered mirrors and chandeliers of Versailles in the dresses and skirts and notice the signs of rebel and the “storming of the castle” in the tight torn pants combined with the high heels.
