The sizzling Nicole Miller spring/summer 2015 collection launched during New York Fashion Week spring 2015 makes one relive the bright and relaxed summer days, even though we are about to welcome fall now. Inspired from a remote locate – Brazil, the collection delivered an array of energizing, fresh and summer-ready clothing pieces, all drenched in tropical, floral and fruit prints. The easy-to-wear and modern relaxed silhouettes jazzed up with versatile colors and tutti-frutti prints managed to perfectly convey Nicole’s love for Rio de Janeiro. Even the wavy black-and-white runway and the beautiful palm trees on the background soaking up the last sunrays managed to create the perfect summer atmosphere of Rio.
Despite its breezy and summer-ready feel, the Nicole Miller spring/summer 2015 collection relied on timeless black and white hues mainly, which instantly popped out from the beginning to the end of the show. There were, however, also bottle green vibes and slight touches of reds that perfectly blended in with the overall monochrome scene. It was due to the spectacular prints and patterns chosen, as well as the relaxed with feminine silhouettes that the collection proved to be a summer one. All sorts of stripes and artistic optical patterns joined the rich variety of flower prints, pineapple, banana and cherry patterns and appliqués, as well as the enchanting palm tree motifs that are so summer-ready! Cropped silhouettes combined with figure-enhancing pencil skirts and high-waisted tailored shorts, along with the beautiful transparency inserts, delicate pleats and frills represented the next top vibes and techniques Nicole used to create these wonderful “fruits”.
The show of the Nicole Miller spring/summer 2015 collection opened with a tropical dress featuring a peekaboo top and a knee-length skirt with a chunky ruffled hem, which looked like a duo of a cropped top and a skirt from afar. Then there came a lot more printed looks, being lovely dresses or skirt and crop top duos, as well as curious clingy cropped sweaters again coming with the same motifs, prints and patterns.
The looks were accessorized minimalistically featuring mainly strappy heeled sandals and letting the focus fall on the Brazilian prints and refreshing silhouettes. The models’ hair was also left loose and natural, perfectly fitting in with the overall effortlessly chic mood of summer. There you could also spot some uber-trendy sunglasses, as you’ll certainly need a pair when strolling along Copacabana Beach!
