Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2015 Collection

The Oscar de la Renta pre-fall 2015 collection stands out not only for its high sense of sophistication and elegance, but because it’s the final collection the great designer worked on before his death. No wonder, it’ll take a special place in the book of history of the luxury fashion house, which has always been trying to make women feel and look real women – feminine, sensual and undeniably classy. Talking about the difficult time of the brand after the designer’s death, the CEO of Oscar de la Renta, Alex Bolen has noted: “The last few days have been very emotional for all of us in different ways. But there was nobody more ‘the show must go on’ than Oscar.”

While Peter Copping has been officially announced the new creative director of the fashion house, he hasn’t taken part in the design process of the Oscar de la Renta pre-fall 2015 collection. We look forward to seeing his debut collection for the brand during the upcoming fashion weeks in February, but meanwhile let’s not diverge from this magical 35-look collection, which triumphantly hit the catwalk on Tuesday. The collection was presented by Alex and Eliza Bolen along with Laura Kim, who has been the brand’s studio director for the past 11 years. She started the design process of the new line with Oscar de la Renta back in August and they included a lot of the designer’s favorite shades of burgundy, orange, red and blushes into this range of classy ensembles. Maharaja of Indore by Bernard Boutet de Monvel is just another reference in the collection, a picture portraying a woman in a white dress styled with delicate jewelry designs and a colorful sash, which caught the eye of Oscar de la Renta for the beautiful color combination used.

The Oscar de la Renta pre-fall 2015 collection is enchantingly beautiful and feminine, composed of a bright color palette for the eveningwear designs and more subdued and delicate shades used for the day-to-day attire options. Despite being 100% typically Oscar de la Renta and classic, it still manages to be utterly modern to cater to the tastes of today’s women. Once again it’s a tribute to ladylike dresses and skirts, which appear most often in the collection, however there are also a few pairs of perfectly tailored wide-leg culottes that have been gaining more and more popularity recently.

It’s definitely the range of eveningwear designs that make us ahh and uhh at the sight of those pretty ball gowns, tulle gowns, floral printed and brightly colored floor-length dresses styled with little fluffy psychedelic fur jackets. The Oscar de la Renta pre-fall 2015 collection is perfection to bits and no wonder de la Renta would appreciate Kim’s work.
