It is a well-established fact that many of us rarely trust newly-founded young fashion companies and avoid dealing with them, naively preferring those famous brands only. Think deeply and you will come to a very effective conclusion that relatively new brands are making much more efforts to live up to our highest expectations, thus designing pieces with impeccable quality and impressive silhouettes. With this in mind leave all your hesitations aside and pay your attention to & Other Stories, a one-of-a-kind Swedish clothier with a wide range of ready-to-wear apparel options, shoes, bags, accessories and even beauty products. Just for your information, & Other Stories is a sister company of the worldwide known high-street retailer, H&M. The style and the design of the store abruptly differ from that of H&M, mainly because & Other Stories has its own designers who are working non-stop to produce new stylish pieces.
The company does not act like wide masses and does trust young inexperienced yet potential individuals. It is figuratively reflected in its strong tendency to collaborate with not well-known designers among them being Rachel Antonoff, Clare Vivier and Lykke Li. This policy is actually very wise on the company’s end in terms of increasing their rating and giving them an opportunity to express themselves. This time around & Other Stories has asked Ada Kokosar to collaborate with on a capsule collection, an Italian-Slovenian stylist, who feels quite at ease in street-style galleries but completely out of her element in the fashion industry. However, selecting Kokosar for a new collab is somewhat bizarre for many of fashionistas since the stylist has no designing background as opposed to the company’s previous designer choices. Mulling over the question we may assume that & Other Stories finds Kokosar’s personal style to be very similar to its own. After all, the company’s main concept is to furnish our wardrobes with unique pieces that will help us emphasize our individuality. And who could be better to collaborate with than Kokosar?
So, the street-style-lover has launched quite a successful capsule collection with five total outfits. Four of them come to be monochrome pieces (black, white, blue and beige), and the fifth one includes accents of different shades. Most likely Kokosar is seeking to bring back the style of ‘90s when one-color outfits enjoyed great popularity.
To promote the collection & Other Stories in collaboration with Ada Kokosar has launched a new Instagram account @adakokosarstories, which is managed by Ada’s most faithful friend and creative consultant, Giorgia Tordini. Through the account the fashion addicts could follow not only the preparation process of the capsule collection, but also Ada’s inspirational sources. With Ada’s modest 8,949 followers, it would be quite complicated to raise the collection’s popularity. However let us hope for the best. If you have already imagined one of the pieces on you and have already made up your mind to purchase it, do not hurry, as the collection will be available only on September 17.
The future of the company surely promises to be rich with newer exciting collaborations. Just focus on its name – & Other Stories. Isn’t something missing?
