It seems like it was only yesterday that we were talking about the first collections presented on the catwalks of the prestigious Parisian Fashion Week, and yet soon we will have to say goodbye to the French capital, just for a couple of months only. But before that, we have the rather romantic and playful Paul & Joe spring/summer 2015 collection designed by Sophie Albou to admire and discuss. With her new collection Mrs. Albou presented a new vision of femininity and a more flirty side of the popular Apache style. Filled with easy-breezy clothing pieces featuring lovely shades, patterns and details, this collection truly deserves to be called ready to wear and ready to stun!
The show kicked off with a matching set of colorfully patterned pants and a jacket with notched neckline. The look was complemented with a thin, again patterned, long scarf. The same colors and patterns were also seen on strappy midi belted dresses, which were worn over long-sleeved shirts and paired with a cute hat. Belts were also featured on the cute A-line miniskirt teamed with a matching shirt topped with a thin coat in light brown.
Albou had also used the already classic combination of a white lacy/netty dress with accessories in brown, which in our case were leather belts, small leather handbags adorned with fringes and hats. In a very pleasant peach hue, the designer had also created patterned collared dresses, which she topped with white jackets, stylish jumpsuits with belts topped with classic jackets; a matching sleeveless top and pants and so on.
The Paul & Joe spring/summer 2015 collection was not devoid of dark blues either. The color was mostly combined with brown and the mix of the two turned out to be quite “rich” and effective. Flower-patched high waisted thin pants in dark blue were combined with blue and white patterned shirts worn under peach colored jackets, blue Peter Pan collar shirts were matched with suede miniskirts in brown, suede rompers were worn over sheer blouses in dark blue and so on. Blue, in combination with peach, black and white was also seen on massive cape-like coats worn over high waisted brown shorts and dark blue shirts, as well as on loose shift dresses reaching just above the knees. Another shade of blue, this time was seen on denim pieces, mainly on high waisted denim shorts teamed with loose sheer blouses and on maxi denim dresses with frontal slits. This way, Mrs. Albou brought back the folk vibes of the ‘70s.
The footwear designed for the next season was quite various. It included mostly open toe platforms and flat sandals. The overall hipster atmosphere of the collection was provided by leather bags with fringes and various depictions of owls on not only on clothing items, but also on necklaces, handbags and on buckles of belts (recently owls seem to be the mascots of hipsters, have you noticed that?).
Overall, the new Paul & Joe spring/summer 2015 collection veered towards a younger audience and was designed for independent and free-spirited youngsters with their own unique fashion style. We are more than sure the fans of boho chic style will find lots of pieces they will enjoy wearing.
