It is 89 days until Christmas, but everybody is busy keeping track of the street style looks and runway shows of the Fashion Weeks. Well, everybody but Primark! The Irish retailer is, in fact, already getting ready for Christmas time, and the holiday-ready Primark Christmas 2016 collection is shinier than ever!
Along with a clean-cut minimalism that marks this colder season, Primark’s Christmas-ready staples feature standout details and fabrics, making everything look almost haute couture.
While when looking for essentials at Primark its abounding amount of proposals could be daunting, especially if you don’t know what you are looking for, this time around the retailer delivers a few, yet extremely tactic and versatile pieces, ready to be used at any party, festivities or even informal event.
For its holiday collection Primark has focused on the biggest fall 2016 fashion trends, from those infused with small touches of fashion, such as asymmetric sleeves, to edgy leather trousers that will never go unnoticed.
Primark’s holiday-ready collection then goes heavy on another equally appealing motif: femininity as perceived in its most sensual way.
Sleek materials combined with velvet, along with relaxed, yet warm lines and figures, fill the collection with sort of loungewear-meets-urban-chic staples, often refining them with lace hems and pairing them with sheer embroidered garments. Primark’s long, sinuous silk robes will look great with almost anything, from sensual lingerie pieces to contrasting street-style looks, while its velvet trousers and jumpsuits will inevitably end up being equally versatile too.
Needless to say, the collection exudes some strong Nineties vibes too, with the slip dress being the center of the attention. Translated to its more holiday-ready floor-length look, and thus not being properly heroin-chic-inspired, Primark’s slip dress is definitely not for the faint-hearted, as its killing look is basically meant to turn heads for sure.
Aside from velvet, this line-up also features more glam rock sequined and metallic patterns. While the sequins almost solely cover modern varsity jackets and quirky embroidered motifs on mannish suits, the metallic materials got primarily utilized to let high-waisted, skinny pants literally shine through the collection. More rigid and sharp-cut than the velvet jumpsuits, their minimalistic lines are perfectly balanced by their bright metallic colors, which means that buying them is a sort of investment for any festive occasion.
Metallic are most of Primark’s mini dresses too, the lines and cuts of which are definitely more curve-hugging and revealing than most of the other staples. Equally sinuous are the collection’s knit dresses, although their contrasting hems and Americana-necklines give us more preppy-chic vibes.
