Pull & Bear Holiday 2016 Collection

Whenever the Spanish label presents a holiday collection, we instantly know things are going to get exciting, especially due to Pull & Bear’s appeal for the hottest trends around. This holiday 2016 season has been so far dominated by sparkling motifs, glittery effects and sequined patterns, concerning both fast fashion (just think Bershka’s latest holiday collection!) and haute couture.

Prophetically dubbed “We Party”, Pull & Bear’s sparkling party collection for the upcoming holiday season exudes cheerfulness and elegance, with pieces varying from super fresh statement staples, such as the metallic varsity jacket, to more sophisticated proposals, like the sequined slip dresses, meant to really make anyone shine bright like a diamond at any night out with friends.

With price tags that range from €9.99 for a 6-earring pack to €79,99 for a long double-button coat, Pull & Bear’s holiday 2016 collection is pretty affordable as usual, and includes garments that easily transition from day to night too.

The first thing that came up to our mind while browsing through the collection, is the care Pull & Bear put in translating this year’s main tendencies to the holiday dresses, which feature fancy detailing, such as asymmetrical ruches and back knots. Although cascades of sequins cover most of the evening dresses, velvet often makes its appearance throughout the collection, covering everything from big chokers to Nineties-inspired slip dresses.

The latter are either meant to be worn alone, with an oversized cardigan just in case the weather gets chillier and as a statement to create contrast, or with a glam rock t-shirt underneath, especially if we want to sport them during the day.

Sheer patterns and faux fur adornments embellish most of the staples too, with faux fur sweaters and slip tops dominating the scene. Pull & Bear seemed to be willing to purposely let us play with contrasts and fashion all winter long, as it often mixes such essentials together for the lookbook, proving there are no rules as long as we feel comfortable in what we are wearing.

Bodysuits with frills or laced-up necklines, metallic t-shirt dresses, strappy velvet dresses and skater skirts and shirts got often paired with one another, accompanied by ultra chic accessories, such as semi-rigid bags with flap fastening, quilted velvet clutches, chunky ankle boots and laminated high heels.

For the ultimate contrasting look, we recommend heading to Pull & Bear to get one of the seasonal most trending items, namely the metallic pleated skirt, as it is was really designed to be mix-and-matched with completely different staples, from ultra elegant butterfly tops to musical t-shirts!
