Calvin Klein has announced their show date and time for New York Fashion Week 2017. As with every year’s New York Fashion Week, the upcoming Calvin Klein fall 2017 shows are going to be filled with the standard high amount of excitement and flair. The Calvin Klein Collection will show on February 10th at 10:00am, meaning that they have been pushed up the roster to one of the earliest available spots.
This is a significantly different slot than the comfortable second to last slot that the brand has occupied for years, when Francisco Costa was in the Chief Creative Officer seat of Calvin Klein.
Another change included in this revelation is that the Calvin Klein men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections will show on the same runway. Raf Simons has a very well known and incredible aesthetic that he treats everything he touches with, so it will be a great joy to see how his influence will manifest further with the brand. I am sure we will be able to easily note the changes in his personal aesthetic as well as that of Calvin Klein.
Additionally noted was the February 1st showing for Raf Simon’s menswear collection. These changes were a big surprise that came after Raf Simons left Christian Dior to become the new chief creative officer for Calvin Klein and there has been plenty of speculation on how his very unique aesthetic would translate for Calvin Klein’s upcoming lines.
The upcoming Calvin Klein New York Fashion Week 2017 collections will be carefully assessed to ascertain the differences and see how this infusion to the well-known fashion house will affect the brand. While the location of the show has not yet been disclosed, the other details revealed are definitely a toss up that has created a very big stir. Most things Raf Simons puts his hands on are considered amazing; he has shown that his tastes can and should be trusted, regardless of the exact level of his input.
Surprisingly, several fashion houses have also decided to display both the men’s and women’s collections together creating anticipation for epic upcoming single runway presentations of some of the best known brands. Calendar updates continue to roll in, so check them against your personal calendars and be prepared to see dual collections stroll cohesively down the runway.
Many adjustments to the status quo are coming out of the woodworks now with designers not just combining men’s and women’s collections, but also other collections as well. For example, Alberta Ferretti gave plenty of notice that her pre-fall and demi couture collections would be shown together early in 2017 when she was in Milan. One thing is for certain, Calvin Klein’s New York Fashion Week 2017 runway presentation will be a great runway show.
