When it comes to charming menswear-inspired women clothing pieces with classic English tailoring, we all know that Rag & Bone is perhaps the best source of inspiration. Designers of the brand, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright unveiled a super-voguish collection of masculine inspired pieces during New York Fashion Week on February 8, 2013. The newest Rag & Bone fall/winter 2013-2014 collection stays true to the brand’s roots, at the same time bringing new shapes and fresh designs that charm at first sight. It’s flooded with cozy and warm knitted pieces, gorgeous color-block touches and modern and sleek outfits.
“We started with flight, aviation, Pan Am uniforms,” Wainwright explained backstage before the Rag & Bone fall/winter 2013-2014 show. “We wanted to start with something very clean, and then it quickly evolved from the minimal to much more modern military aviation.” As a result, we can see cool V-neck sweaters with Pan Am blue collars and stewardess uniform inspired sexy mini shift dresses matched with knits.
Of course, the Rag & Bone fall/winter 2013-2014 collection brought lots of sportswear pieces too, like the boxy jackets. Other than that, you can see gorgeous military-inspired outerwear pieces, such as parkas and pea coats, as well as oversized sweaters, A-line mini dresses and skirts, and pants. Accessories included only footwear, which were in quite bright shades sometimes, and smart leather bags.
The best thing about the Rag & Bone fall/winter 2013-2014 collection that instantly catches the eye is the color play. While black and gray shades were the key options, they were stylishly accompanied by pops of orange, purple, Pan Am blue, mineral green and mustard. And when it comes to the materials used, this year expect lots of leather, rubber, nylon and satin from Rag & Bone. Wholly, expect only drop-dead gorgeous looks from the Rag & Bone fall/winter 2013-2014 collection this fall!
