Rebecca Minkoff Fall/Winter 2016-2017 RTW – NYFW

With New York Fashion Week well underway, we are enjoying all the lovely looks that have been pushed forth of late, looking rather fantastic. Among these designers presenting their styles has also been Rebecca Minkoff, with no particular theme going into the line-up and a general mix of worldliness that just makes total sense without actually being able to be described well in words. The Rebecca Minkoff fall/winter 2016-2017 collection has the customer in mind and it shows.

It is one of the top brands that has stated that the collection will be shown when it will hit stores as well, so on Saturday there will be a #SeeBuyWear show happening for fans, bloggers and the like. The pieces seen at this point are cross-seasonal and perfect for those who need some new Rebecca Minkoff and cannot wait for the September retail setups. What exactly could be found among these lovely pieces though?

If we had to pinpoint a certain decade, it would probably a 1970s moving into the ‘80s era here, with interesting features such as floppy brimmed hats, oversized sweaters in neutral colors, paired with saucy half boots in a Western style and beautifully done up button down dark denim skirts. We notice outfits, which include black and white striped shirts tucked into black leather skirts, gorgeous leather jackets and thigh-high velvet boots; we notice the leather jackets come in navy, camel and black and look awesome.

There are pretty black dresses paired with varsity jackets and thigh-high boots, little clutch bags adding to the chic effect, while suede brown handbags with top handles and shoulder strap combinations are available as well. Purple is a color to look for, along with brown, with plaid in cream and blue also working wonders in the collection.

Strappy shoes in silver and black come into play and look pretty amazing with that gauzy polka dotted dress with the center slit and the shorter gauzy lining underneath. That one is possibly our favorite look, alongside the leopard printed coat worn over a black skirt and black and white striped blouse, showing off some leg while covering up the rest of the body.

This is certainly a lovely collection and we cannot wait to see more of it as Rebecca Minkoff continues with some grand reveals. The gypset attitude is to be commended, while the customer-in-mind attitude is even more to our liking, seeing phone pockets inside coat linings, and lots of easy layering. We love the silk dresses as well.

The #SeeBuyWear Rebecca Minkoff fall 2016 show will only feature the pieces stores have picked up already, along with 16 other looks that will be sold in the brand’s own brick and mortar retail spaces. Add some new hair and makeup as well and the show will have an interesting new look.
