The Rebecca Taylor spring/summer 2014 collection brought a touch of woman purity, femininity and lightness to New York Fashion Week. The whole collection seems to go round the theme of making the world a better place for a young and innocent girl. In her interview before the show, Rebecca said: “The world can be pretty ugly place sometimes, and it is up to me to create something beautiful, feminine and clean.”
It seems like she kept her promise. Her models looked like innocent and naive girls with a strong touch of femininity. They are young and enjoy the life fully, have sense of humor, do not take the harsh world seriously and at the same time have a little bit of tomboyness in them.
You will not see the typical bright floral prints and shiny colors of summer in this year’s Rebecca Taylor spring/summer 2014 collection. The collection is rather in light, soft and delicate colors of blue, yellow, baby pink and white. The end of the show was spectacular and lovely thanks to the number of sophisticated floral ensembles that had spring imprinted all over!
Strapless shirtdresses, elegant shorts, wide and tight shirts express the lightness of the Rebecca Taylor spring/summer 2014 collection. Relaxed slacks and cropped tees give a sense of humor to the garments, making them look casual and fun.
The most serious and rather risky part of the Rebecca Taylor spring/summer 2014 collection can be considered the blue floral print on a business like suite combined with a rather comfortable jacket and slacks, however, even it looks very feminine and does not divert from the theme of the entire line. In contrast to it, the other pink floral print on the short dress looked softer and more delicate, picturing the breeze and motion of the summer and spring garden.
We can surely state that Rebecca Taylor managed to illustrate the innocence and purity of the 21st century young girl in her new Rebecca Taylor spring/summer 2014 collection.
