Being a demure bride is not so winsome at this juncture, but jumping to another extreme and showing off too much flesh on your nuptials is in no way appropriate either. So it is here that you can reach out for help to the Lebanese fashion designer Reem Acra without even a second thought. She always cuts the mustard in working out bridal stunners that are literally struck between modesty and sensuality. With the Reem Acra spring 2017 bridal collection unveiled just a few days ago at New York Bridal Week, the designer came to once again manifest our judgments. Reem Acra herself called her brides ‘bombshells’ and kept on developing her idea: “The bustiers, the corsets, the lace-up backs… it’s sexy.”
Yes, sexy it was but not in modern American manner when no room is left for mystery and enigma. When Lebanese essence lends its subtlety, the sexuality seemingly veers to another direction. Organza, Chantilly lace, intricate embroidery on the bodices, scintillating threads weaved in, sequins and crystals and of course, boning were the main materials and techniques used to bring to our view Reem Acra’s new 2017 bridal collection.
The scheme of showing naked sensual body was managed through semi-transparent lace exposing only body shadow, as well as heart-shaped strapless bodices, off-the-shoulder solutions or plunging necklines. But when deeply open lace-up backs came to the mix, a real excitement broke out right on the runway. The bottom parts were running the gamut including fit-and-flaring silhouettes, full skirts, free flowing sample and multilayered ruffled craziness that seemed to frou-frou all the while.
Yes, that was all Reem Acra from stem to stern but what she added to her whole Lebanese splendor and opulence was versatility and flexibility. With heedful of Reem Acra’s bridal dress under your disposal you might really fling yourself into multiple transformational experiences, namely, walking down the aisle with a transparent shrug on while throwing it off on the dance floor and creating the illusion of another gown to the surprise of the guests, or starting the wedding ceremony with a mysterious veil thrown over your face, then ending it with that same veil attached to the back as a train.
But it was definitely that delicate detachable overlay sparkling all over the map that just could not be overlooked and many of you out there might not take it off for all the tea in China even if an intriguing plunging neckline is hiding underneath. “It’s about flexibility for the modern bride,” Reem Acra continued. “You can create your own look.”
So, if your nuptial day is nigh hand at hand and you are in two minds whether to reveal your elegant or bohemian side to your Mr. Right, go hell for leather and opt for any number from Reem Acra’s spring 2017 bridal collection. In any case, you will come out as a real bombshell as per Reem Acra’s promises.
