Rihanna May Present Her Puma Collection At New York Fashion Week

One of the latest news to hit the headlines was that of Rihanna taking the helm of Puma, becoming its creative director. Speculations are now spreading that RiRi, who is no stranger to the fashion week front rows, may also present her highly expected Puma collection at New York Fashion Week this February, meaning also that Kanye West won’t be the only musician turned designer to hit the catwalks any longer (and will definitely have some stiff competition to deal with).

Rihanna May Present Her Puma Collection At New York Fashion Week

Although the news hasn’t been officially announced yet, and Puma has yet to confirm it, there are many reasons to believe Rihanna will give her unique contribution to New York Fashion Week on February 12th at 8.00 p.m.

The Barbadian singer cryptically tweeted a link to a Paddle8 auction a few hours ago that is selling front row tickets to the show which, according to the auction’s descriptions, also include: “a pre-show styling package, backstage access following the runway show, as well as invitation to the after-party, plus an exceptional suite of gifts, selected for the sartorial collector, including one piece of each style in the entire AW16 PUMA by Rihanna collection, an autographed one of a kind Puma by Rihanna BTS framed art piece, and a pair of signed Creepers in each color from the AW15 collection.”

As Rihanna stated on twitter, the proceeds from the auction will go to the Clara Lionel Foundation, a non-profit organization Rihanna founded in 2012 in honor of her grandparents (it is named after her grandmother and grandfather), which works to improve the quality of life for global communities in needs, developing artistic and educational services such as the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine in Barbados. “I’m thrilled to share the #DiamondBall auction on @Paddle8, proceeds go to benefit the mission of @ClaraLionelFdn.”

The starting bid on the auction is $15,000 and closes on Thursday December 10th at 3 pm EST. Paddle8, which also features other extravagant biddings such as a trip to Jamaica to meet Olympic track star Usain Bolt, the chance to get a Jeff Koons’ unique piece of art, and a few rare Hermès Birkin handbags, categorizes the opportunity as ‘priceless’.

RiRi, who has previously teamed up with River Island subsequently staging a Fashion Week Show in February 2013, literally took the world by storm with her recent Puma suede creepers capsule collection, and will be very likely do the same with this upcoming collection of hers.
