River Island Spring 2015 Collection

The London headquartered high street fashion brand known as River Island is an absolute favorite among many and the River Island spring 2015 collection has been awaited with much anticipation. Operating in a number of worldwide markets, River Island as we know it today was born in 1988 and never looked back. It is, essentially a family business, run by Bernard Lewis, who came up with the original idea back in 1948, selling fruits and vegetables alongside the wool from a Nazi-Luftwaffe bombed-out site in the East End of London. Today, we are more than happy to see how fast and how well it has grown, especially when we so enjoy flipping through the latest in River Island’s spring and summer 2015 collection.

The River Island spring 2015 campaign stars Latvian model Ieva Laguna and Jamaican Model Kai Newman. The images themselves were captured in Palm Springs, California, so it certainly is all about bringing in the sunshine to the lovely pieces within this collection. We are seeing denim on denim looks, white lace maxi dresses, black fringed and embroidered shawls, crop tops and brimmed hats, large circular sunglasses and lots of strappy sandals.

Here, we’re talking about how sexy a simple black and white color blocked ensemble can look when it’s fit right to the figure and made to look positively classy. Those long shorts with their high waists are perfect for the women, who prefer to add length to the legs, while the keyhole cut-out in the black and white crop top is at the perfect location, showing off skin below the bust instead of above. Add a nice leather jacket and gladiator style high stiletto heeled sandals to the mix and it is a gorgeous set that’s been pulled together.

Since the spring weather often requires one to keep dressing up warm, the mustard yellow colored fancy coat with its pretty silver buttons and matching belt might be just perfect, especially when coupled with a white and yellow little snakeskin handbag. Ankle strapped light golden heels can be added to the mix for a perfect combination. We love the look, especially the inclusion of snakeskin in there, which is also seen in some shoe models that have been paired with white lace dresses.

Long legs are a must throughout this year, and instead on focusing on leggings and cigarette coupes, we have the slightly flared bottoms on long, high wasted jeans that are paired with stiletto sandals for added effect. The gorgeous button down blouse here is a navy color, so while not a denim on denim ensemble, it certainly gives off that vibe. Adding golden jewelry helps brighten things up, while a lighter blue handbag with black and white tassels offers a nice contrast while keeping true to the color base. Hoop earrings are a great choice, especially with the hair left down in silky waves.
