Have you ever wondered how exiting it would be to wear Rodarte’s pieces without actually spending an entire fortune? If you have missed Rodarte’s former collaboration with Target and GAP, you should definitely get ready for another amazing Rodarte collaboration this time around with & Other Stories, due to be launched in spring 2016.
Rodarte’s founders, Californian sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy have recently teamed up with Scandinavian brand & Other Stories, creating a collection that is about to debut both online and in stores offering more affordable prices than Rodarte’s main ready-to-wear line, with price tags ranging from 30$ to 325$. The contemporary retailer & Other Stories and the highly sought-after sisters are creating a collection that includes a clothing line, accessories and shoes, and will dress us from head to toe.
However, this collaboration is interesting not only due to its upcoming affordable prices. The two fashion brands come from different paths, and usually target different audiences. While Rodarte is more of a luxury brand, that mixes high couture with California influences, & Other Stories is a high-street retailer with Scandinavian influences. We can’t wait to see the result of the joint work of these brands and are more than sure to be treated to unique and modern pieces that are also easy to wear! Although & Other Stories has often collaborated with different designers and celebrities including Rachel Antonoff and Lykke Li, thus telling different stories each time, it is going to be particularly interesting to see how this Californian/Swedish wedding will look like.
In their turn, the Californian sisters have always loved to experiment with other brands, as proven by their capsule collection for Opening Ceremony and their limited-edition project with Starbucks. Furthermore, they are also busy working on their first feature film.
Both brands can’t wait to give themselves a challenge and to show what their creativity has in store for us: “Through this special collaboration with & Other Stories, we are excited to translate the Rodarte narrative into a new environment. & Other Stories’ unique positioning in the fashion landscape has allowed us to create a truly special collection,” Kate and Laura Mulleavy have revealed.
“With Rodarte’s strong co-lab collection we’re adding a new LA-infused perspective to our selection and bringing inspiration and ideas to encourage all personal styles, or stories,” Samuel Fernström, managing director of & Other Stories has stated talking about the exciting collaboration.
Although there’s quite of a great excitement in the air, neither Rodarte nor & Other Stories are going to reveal more details any time soon. We just got a sneak peek photo that shows a model’s legs with some polka dot tights, glittering heels and a little black dress. Both the clothes and the type of furniture captured in the photo reveal how deeply committed to the collaboration these brands are. So we just have to wait and get ready to do affordable online shopping while getting designer items!
